To John Bishop on 1620: "We're still waiting on Fedor. That's on ongoing process with the NCAA."

He elaborated that if the situation doesn't get resolved, they may go after a replacement for that roster spot.

In my defense, that's the first time I've ever heard a concrete answer on his situation this offseason and it happened a few hours after I posted lol just my luck.

LOL I'm not picking on you. I probably should have worded that better. ;)

You are right that it's only been random burner accounts running with that info before today. We'd heard about it awhile back, but no one would go on the record -- now that Mac has done it, maybe there will be some movement one way or the other.

to be fair - there are posters that are connected with the program that 'know' or hear stuff. and this would probably fall under that sort of situation.

so learn who those folks are (they aren't hard to figure out) - and when they are saying stuff about situations like Fedor's pay closer attention than to JAYZFANXTREME498234. (no offense to any poster of course - all are welcome and valuable with their input - just that some should maybe be paid a little extra attention.)

Other news and notes from the interview:

-He hoped Darian DeVries or Alan Huss would be able to succeed him at Creighton. When DeVries landed the Indiana job, Huss was the guy

-Mike Nesbitt has followed Huss here from High Point. Huss coached him in high school and loved having him on his staff. New NCAA rule allows five assistant coaches who can recruit on the road (up from three) gave CU flexibility to add him

-The 15-roster limit includes walk-ons. Mac is saving a roster spot for Josh Townley-Thomas. He said Josh is from Omaha, came to CU to play instead of going elsewhere because he wanted a degree from Creighton and Mac told him no matter what else happens, one of the spots is his.

-Feels like Freeman and Dix won't take as much time as other transfers to fit in, because Iowa played a fast tempo

If we can’t get Fedor eligible for at least 1 more season, we have terrible lawyers. There are gonna be several 24-26 year olds making $500k to $3 million this year in NIL plus rev share.

This is what no one wants to come out and say, but it has also been mentioned on Trilly's board and I tend to agree. Yes, the NCAA sucks for a variety of reasons and are horribly inconsistent. That being said, there is zero explanation for this issue other than the possibility, and in my opinion likelihood, that he doesn't have the best lawyer working for him and whoever Creighton has on it is also unfamiliar with navigating the legal issue. A variety of teams are bringing in Euro guys with pro experience that are also 20+ years of age.

From the sounds of it, Creighton's lawyers are basically out of the picture at this point. Mac at this morning's presser said this:

"It's an ongoing thing, and now it's kind of between Fedor and his family and their representation and the NCAA. We're kind of out of it at this point in time. But he’s still fighting, and we're still supporting that fight.”
