Looks like with St. John’s signing of 5th good portal player, they will undisputedly be favored to win BE again next year. UConn likely to be picked second and Jays third. Hopefully the players we signed will come together very well and Jays will contend. The big billionaire benefactor Mike Repole is certainly going to ensure St. John’s is good for years and years. Creighton has at least a couple of billionaires involved in pro sports so I wonder if they are contributing to Jays NIL since they are interested in sports or if there are actually any NIL rules pertaining to pro sports ownership. They need to come up with some NIL parameters STAT.

I wouldn’t think there would be any conflict if baseball franchise owners made contributions to benefit Basketball players.
"But I truly care about Creighton and the fans and what they've done for me the last three years. I want to give them one more year and take care of business in the Big East so we can prove people wrong.'' ---- Doug McDermott

I’m not sure I see it with UConn. Are they better than last year?

Returning Alex Karaban (potentially), Solo Ball, Jaylin Stewart, Tarris Reed (four of their top seven scorers).

Landed transfers Silas Demary and Malachi Smith, strengthening the point guard position (a weakness last year).

Adding 5-star guard/wing Braylon Mullins (top-15 player) plus 4-stars Eric Reibe and Jacob Furphy (both top-100 players).

UConn should be better next year than it was this year.

It’s crazy how much different this team could be offensively. Harper and Graves averaged more FTs per game than our whole team did last year which brings a dimension to the offense we haven’t had. Excited to see how Mac and Huss work with this group

This is really going to be the deepest team we’ve ever had if everyone stays healthy…

Trying to sort out the starters and rotation is going to be challenging. We have 5 high level transfers, our two highest ranked recruits of all time (McAndrew and Greer) and several returnees with experience.

Should start:
Dix
Freeman
McAndrew

Could start:
Graves (prob could be in the should start category)
Harper
Fedor
Greer
Green

Rotational bench players
Ty
Traudt
Swartz

Deep bench
Aleksa
Shane
JTT

We should all have a rooting interest in Saturday’s Kentucky Derby. Repole owns a horse named Grande. The winning share from just that one race (and the morning line on Grande is 10/1, so it has a shot) should be enough to buy the best damn point guard in America, if Repole is so inclined. Might even be enough left over to go shopping for an AA-level big.

My enthusiasm here is tempered by the fact that they did not play in the BE. I anticipate that if the BE continues to be officiated as it has been the last couple of seasons, they will find that much of what got them to the line in the past will be no calls in the BE.

Maybe that would impact the numbers a bit but there were more games were a player had over 10 FT attempts by themselves than you would think. RJ Luis had a game with 20 attempts

Nice roster, we can never have enough players as last year proved due to injuries, transfers etc. Go Jays
