Though I usually track the baseball games through Stat Broadcast, I do enjoy Tdjay114's commentary. I think they are a fan in good standing and bring enthusiasm to this thread. If there are any prospective recruits or parents of prospective recruits who read Bluejay Underground, to get a feel for our sports community, I want them to leave with the impression that we are the best, most devoted fanbase in college sports. We follow all the sports and want recognition for all our teams.

On a practical note, maybe a good compromise would be one thread like this for general baseball discussion, for those who don't want to comb through play-by-play, and a separate baseball-play-by-play thread.

Sounds good to me. Let’s try out a series thread then for Seton Hall starting tomorrow. I’ll be watching on Flo sports or espn plus whichever covers it.

X and St. John’s in a dog fight. I’d prefer that no one sweep anyone else. We want others to beat up each other.

Bad loss today. Need to play both and win both tomorrow.

Horrible series loss. Ben North hit a 2 run hr then had a costly error. Our errors are costing us games. Move North to DH.

Our baseball team can be really confusing. This reminds me of last season where we were relatively good during the non-conference schedule, but struggled in conference. The series win versus UConn was encouraging. I don’t know what to make of the team after this series loss against SH. This will be a big week for us. Tuesday is the second game against the Huskers, then we face conference-leading St. John’s starting Thursday. I hope we rebound.

Agreed. So confusing. Though I hope we rebound and most importantly win the series against or sweep St. John’s. And then we look at this series against sh as a fluke. Especially with the shortened game.

Someone give me the story on CU Baseball. I'm a filthy casual when it comes to college baseball.

Are we close to making any real noise at the conference or on the national level? Is there a regional/super-regional in our immediate future or a chance to make the CWS?

What's our ceiling?

I think our ceiling is making the regional and winning a game or two. Though in my eternal optimism, I always want and hope for more - like CWS. I think we can qualify for one of the 4 conference tournament spots and win the conference tournament but not if we play like we did against Seton Hall and with having all of the errors. We've shown we can compete at a national level against the non-conference (last year beating top #15 Coastal Carolina), yet we continue to struggle with the Big East.

I think this year's team can hit. We have some solid weekend starters, but we've been inconsistent. Dom, who is our ace and was our ace last year before getting injured, is still finding his footing this year. If he can be his usual dominant self that would be a huge help.
