Anyone on High Point's roster that we would have interest in?

Looks like they have a ton of seniors, although Juslin Bodo Bodo, has averaged 9 rebs/game over 2 years and is 7'0" 240lbs.

This is a net positive for Creighton, in my opinion. This is a good move.

this is funny. but i was thinking, how can we continue to believe blossom is so bad given that kbb left, but not to another school, and her assistant is taking her place. someone who worked with blossom and could have left for another job. and now this? seems like he's a real coaches ad if coaches don't leave, but when they do they get to pick their successors. seems like he just wants to keep this rolling. very reassuring.

but with huss especially, that could not have worked out better other than mac just coaching forever. the golden age continues.

Huss is both a great replacement for Miller and for the future of the program. He's a super high-level recruiter who understands how to find and land talent, and who worked with Mac for 6 years on his game planning, etc. No idea how long we have before Mac decides to play golf, but this is a positive for our future

Great move! I wonder if Miller wanted to be the next up coach last couple of years, and maybe stayed because of that hope, and was finally told this year it wasn’t happening. I think Huss is better choice, but it is somewhat out of the norm as usually coaches are promoted from within and not brought back, regardless of whether the one that left is better. Would be interesting to find out the thinking on the scenario and how it played out.

With the new NIL structure, Euros can make more money playing college BB than they can as pros over there. Coach Huss has recruited Europe for years, this could be a huge plus for the Jays. Very cerebral, hard-working guy, Coach Mac 2.0!!!

This is becoming Creighton’s signature move. First Kingston in baseball, and now Huss. If I’m Flan or Johnny, and Marcus asks me, “have you thought about bringing in an assistant, because I’ve got a name for you”, I’m starting to worry a little. (I’m not saying for a second this is what happened with Mac. Nobody decides his future except Mac).

But it’s still “reportedly” and “sources say”. I’m holding out hope that Jimmy Motz will be our guy. Former player, his name will fit on the door nearly as easy as Alan Huss, and he’s turned Norris into a kind of, sorta, semi-power in Class B (State finals last year, semis this year). And he’ll bring something to the table Huss doesn’t: he teaches Social Studies.

I heard Miller has interviewed for multiple jobs before this season.

Great point. Sometimes a guy is a great number 2 but won’t be a great head coach. Huss went out and proved he is a very good head coach at High Point.

Here in Seattle, we hired the coach in waiting at Syracuse for the UW program. He had been with Boeheim for something like 20 years. He had a year or two at UW where he did a good job with Romar’s recruits but then it went downhill pretty fast. UW basketball has been mediocre or worse for at least a decade.

the way this played out, it makes me think huss was always the heir apparent on a pretty set timeline.
