Ash has played his way into a legitimate BE POY candidate. For what he means to this team and how he’s become so clutch you have to put him in the conversation now.

He's definitely played his way into the first-team All-Big East discussion, but he''s going to have a tough time passing up his own teammate in the POY race.

Shaka extremely complimentary of Ash in the post game presser. Yes, as many of us have stated over the years, the poor audio on the post game pressers is embarrassing . We've won 8 NCAA games over the last four years and have an endowment of 745 million, lets fix the audio. Go Jays!!!

So far I've been able to find audio-included Mac post game video, but not Shaka's. Hope that gets fixed overnight. I always like to hear the opposing coach talk about the game

"I've seen 6th graders with more court awareness. 3 games, zero impact. Guy's out there shooting like he's auditioning for the role of "Missed Shot of the Year." "

Thanks. Audio marginal, but at least I could hear it. Tried that link last night and it didn't work.

Once again, the Batman and Robin duo continue to dominate as both stood out but Ash gets my standout player of the game.
Green played a nice game and Neal gets my MVP for his +25 in the +/-. Every time Neal sat because of foul trouble, Marquette would make a run and every time Neal came in, the jays would make a run.

I think if Kalkbrenner continues to play like he has recently, it should not even be a question but that he is the BE POY. He should be considered for national POY, although national media have not touted him or the BE highly this year. Consider this comparison of stats as well as Kalkbrenner being the unquestioned much better defensive player:

Kalkbrenner: 19.2 ppg, 67.3 fg %, 42.3 3pt %, 71.8 ft%, 8.5 rpg, 1.4 apg, 2.8 bpg, 1.2 topg.

Cooper Flagg: 19.5 ppg, 47.9 fg%, 36.4 3pt %, 80.3 ft%, 7.7 rpg, 4.0 apg, 1.3 bpg, 2.6 topg.

Johni Broome: 18.1 ppg, 51.4 fg%, 30.2 3pt%, 63.5 ft%, 10.9 rpg, 3.3 apg, 2.7 bpg, 1.3 topg.

I think if Kalkbrenner continues to play like he has recently, it should not even be a question but that he is the BE POY. As much respect as I have for Kalkbrenner's defense, Flagg and Broome are also terrific defenders, Broome especially so (Flagg has tremendous upside there but is still a young freshman). Those two also play on the two best teams in the country (yesterday's losses notwithstanding). The conversation going the way it has is perfectly reasonable. Kalkbrenner is certainly playing himself onto the NPOY ballot discussion though if CU continues to win.
