Leuck is likely a DS for Creighton. She might train at both positions but she isn't setting in matches unless Creighton runs a 6-2 which KBB doesn't prefer. I'd guess Creighton is still after a transfer setter. It may be Maeder but she has been linked to Creighton longer than any of the players that actually committed without anything being made official so who knows

Still no news on S Annalea Maeder, but she hasn't committed elsewhere either. I wonder if there are some issues regarding her foreign citizenship. Seems like she'd be OK for this semester, but maybe some issues for next year. IDK, just growing impatient.

Obviously Maeder is experienced, but would the team be better off starting her for just one season vs rolling with Strain who’s been practicing with the team for a year and has three years left?

I'm fine with Strain, good size and athleticism, but the Maeder rumors were pretty strong for a while. Rayna Christensen, the No. 1 prospect in Minnesota, presumably will battle for the job the following year.

Still need a backup setter if it ends up being Strain. As for Maeder, I don't think she graduated in December so perhaps she is taking her time since she isn't joining her new team until the summer.

The Supernovas and Orlando Valkyries have their rosters at 16 or under so all the Creighton players (Sis, Wait, and Whitten) look to have made rosters for opening day. A couple of them could be practice squad players though- that won't be designated for a couple more days.

Story on the 3 transfers. They're all enrolling in January along with the two incoming freshmen. They only mention Ivy as a setter here.

In other news, Audrey Clark announced that she is transferring to Illinois State.

At this point, don't you think the backup setter would be Leuck?

Strain didn't see much action this year. It seemed like Clark started the year as the #2 setter, but she seemed to fall behind Strain by the end of the year. And, neither got much PT other than mop up duties. Strain was definitely taller, and Coach Booth has said she likes tall setters.

I think she'll train as a setter and DS. I think it would be nice to have another so a 6-2 would at least be an option if something happens to Strain (unless Hausmann can fill in here in a pinch). At least to start, KBB said Ziegler was training mostly at setter so they've had at least 3 backups the last 2 years.

The three Creighton players made active rosters for PVF since it looks like Kendra and Allison are both active tonight for the Supernovas. Jaali and LOVB Omaha have their season opener tonight too.
