We are physically mismatched at every position except center against every team we play. It's like back to the 1980's. Personally, I don't even like Kalk at the 5. He is a 4 today. Anyway, Greg probably has a nice contract and can attract nice people who play nice basketball like it should be played. It would be better if somebody else recruited and assigned a group of 12 people for Greg to coach.

Good thing nobody saw the game, the whole country was watching the Art of Sport LA Bowl Hosted by Gronk
At Creighton Bob Gibson majored in sociology and starred in Basketball and Baseball. In 1957 Gibson received a $3,000 sign-on bonus with St. Louis Cardinals, but delayed his HOF Cards career a year to play pro B-ball with the Harlem Globetrotters.

Bad game. Not much else to say, we are definitely overmatched physically which is not encouraging.

There are a lot of dudes from Omaha playing elsewhere. Not sure why we can't get more Omaha guys on the roster.

A bad couple of years recruiting and portal transfers is coming to roost, not withstanding Ash and McAndrew. Pop was supposed to be the guy, had an injury but he was coming off hip surgery over the summer so he already had a history of injuries, interesting pick up in my opinion. Johnson never materialized. Fedor who knows if he will ever be eligible and the frosh class last year is all gone except the walk on Thomas. Neal has skills in some areas but is not a 2 guard.

Season is young and I tend to overreact when we look so bad, so their is still hope. Free FEDOR.

Go Jays!!!

It is difficult to get excited about this team. Tonight was a great example. Ashworth battled his tail off, Kalkbrenner was disinterested, McAndrew was promising, and the rest of the team is lost. Unless Fedor plays like an aspiring NBA 1st rounder (if he ever plays at all), don't see this team making the NCAA tournament. All of the sudden, Saturday looks like a must win game. Let it Fly...........how about, let's get some rebounds, let's play some defense, let's play with some toughness.

So glad we went with 'skill' over athleticism.

Ash gets my standout player of the game over Jackson. Those were the only 2 players that did anything.
I'm not saying Miller played a good game but he did have the best +/- on the team at -3.
Give the guy a break, we played our best basketball when he was in the game which isn't saying much as we shit our pants the entire game.

GT hit 55% of their shots. 62.5% from three.

As bad as our offense was, our defense was worse.

Part of this is live ball turnovers for dunks.

And one more gripe then I will leave this game in the past: If you are going to go to a 2-3 zone or match up zone (not sure which it was supposed to be), at least look like you practice it. I get the need to play some zone when we can't match up defensively 1-5, and I don't mind the move. However, numerous times last night and in the Alabama game when we ran zone a bit, we'd have 3 guys converge on the wing who received a pass leaving large holes in the zone. We were then left scrambling to cover those holes, opening other holes. A high school team, let alone a team coached by Ed Cooley or Nate Oats, could easily find the gaps in the zone we ran.
