Watching his highlights, two things stand out to me that we sorely missed this past season:

1) His range is in the same ballpark as Ballock and Wragge. We did not have anyone that could knock them down from that distance this year. Our best 3pt shooters (O'Connell and Hawkins) fell off once they had to step a few feet back of the arch. That's just my eye test. Don't have stats handy to back that up. Having someone with that range will really help open the floor even more.

2) Dude can pass. Our passing from the wing was pretty atrocious this year. I wouldn't rate anybody above average in their 2021-22 performance. Beyond distance shooting, this was our #1 deficit this past year.

I also like his ability to post up smaller guards. Would come in handy when opponents are switching screens and we get some mismatches.

Great analysis. I took the same things away from his game. I'll add that in watching Baylor's highlights, he tended to break people's ankles and/or generate a lot of space routinely on the crossover/step-back threes. Neither Hawkins nor AOC could do that as well, IMO. I would argue that Baylor can create his own shot better than either those guys (against inferior competition and we shall see how that translates).

If Baylor Scheierman signs and Ben Shtolzberg forces the coaches to play him 20 minutes a game because of his play/shooting, CU's shooting will no longer be BS, even though our two best shooters will be. See what I did there? Classic wordplay.

Laughable that anyone would suggest he is the 5th best player on next year's team. His ceiling is first, my realistic prediction would be 2nd behind Kalk, with an absolute floor of 3rd (behind Nembhard) or 4th (behind Kaluma). He wouldn't simply elevate this team's 3pt shooting, he would make everyone around him better as well (more spacing and more playmaking).

His Jackrabbit predecessor Mike Daum, the “dauminator”, averaged 10 ppg better than Baylor, and was a better rebounder, and a few inches taller, objectively MUCH better than Baylor. Daum did not get drafted and is playing Euro ball. Baylor would be a nice addition but he certainly is not someone I am personally salivating over, he is not “the missing piece”. We would do just fine without him.

Couldn't disagree more. Terrible take. Of course we are very good as it stands right now. Sweet 16 good. Add Baylor and it adds the one main piece we are missing. Final 4 good. We need him big time.

Kalk, Trey, Art, and Nembhard are for SURE better than Baylor, even as younger players, they proved their worth in the BE, which is as least two notches higher than the Summit league. Baylor may be good coming in off the bench for instant offense, ala Remy Martin with Kansas last year. Remy was certainly a stater level player coming from PAC 12 ASU, and he embraced the role of coming in off the bench to Kansas’ benefit. I am not saying we should not try to sign Baylor if it is possible, I am just saying he is not as good as his hype, and yes, I have watched a number of his games from last year. I just don’t think he is an impact level player in the BE. Complementary yes, impact no.

I don’t know why anyone would bother arguing which starter is better than any other starter. It’s a team game. We’re lucky to have so many good players.

The question remains . . . . . .where is the scholarship coming from if Baylor decides he wants to come to Creighton? Or, will he just pay his own way with NIL money?

I know it shouldn't really matter, and for the actual team, performance on the court next year is the only factor. But as a fan, the preseason polls would absolutely adore us if we land Baylor. We're already quite popular. His signing would take preseason hype to another dimension.

I cannot believe someone is really on here arguing the point that Baylor isn’t an impact level player or a starter. Goodness
