Iowa State is also on the restricted list put out by Wisconsin. He can't go there either.

Iowa State is not a Big Ten school though so I'm pretty sure he can pay his own way there the first year and go on scholarship the final 3 years...

What from that article leads some of you to think we are being played as "sloppy seconds" or "we are too good for him" type card? Maybe the kid just wants to see all the options he can before he makes his decision. He is a high level recruit from Eastern Iowa in the heart of B1G country. I guess I would not blame him for looking at all options. So what if he wants to play at a BCS level school, thats about 90% of the kids out there. This is where we stress our selling points when he visits. Personally, I feel pretty fortunate we are the first school he is visiting, and we are the only non-BCS school I have even seen mentioned (not sure UNI has the schollies). I dont want to sell ourselves short, I just dont see it the same way that some of you who posted do.

Some posters here act like schizo needy teenage girls ( or mini perraults) in regards to recruits.

I prefer coach macs style. Give it all youve got but keep your dignity if it doesn't work out.

Thank you westojay and jay ball. Voices of reason in a GTMO world of "I'll-formed logic" whatever that's suppose to mean.

Well, this story gets stranger and stranger.

According to the article below, Uthoff never filed any appeal to the original list of restricted schools. Apparently he had 2 days to do so, but failed to do so and now any appeal is barred. (Note: the two day appeal deadline has not yet passed on any ACC schools).

Very, very, very strange. Isn't he on record from multiple sources saying that he did appeal the restrictions?

He might want to check the draft folder of his inbox in case he forgot to hit the send button.

The only thing that could make this story more strange is when he announces he is going to stay at Wisconsin after all.

Eh, it's entirely possible he looked into it and realized the appeal is completely pointless. The NCAA has never and will never override a coach when it comes to transfer rules.

Another strange twist: Wisconsin misplaced the appeal letter. (Well, misplaced is not exactly the right word, but that's the headline on the article so let's go with it.)

http://thegazette.com/2012/04/18/source ... ke-appeal/

Apparently, Uthoff delivered it in person and the person he needed to hand it to -- Wisconsin's associate AD -- was out of the office, and Uthoff was not allowed to leave it on his desk, so the associate AD's secretary placed it in his mailbox. Which is where the letter was found today when Uthoff confronted them about why they claimed they hadn't received it. Bottom line, he filed the appeal in plenty of time, the associate AD just didn't check his mailbox for two days. Weird.

man does this story get weirder and weirder.

wisconsin is not looking good through this so far.

they're taking a PR hit based on the ridiculous restrictions - and now they look like clowns not having received Uthoff's letter even though it was there all along.

Little embarrassing for the badgers...
