Huge opportunity for the Jays at #8 Marquette. To have any chance, CU needs to eliminate turnovers, which will be a tall task against Shaka’s club.
8pm CT
FS1
MU -8.5

I like the Jays to win this one at Marquette. Jay's by 5 as Marquette has no answer for Kalk. Go Jays!!!

We sit 1-4 away from CHI and 0-2 in true road games. I think getting the first road W at Marquette is a very tall task. Fedor apparently isn't the instant answer I think many (reasonably or not), including me, had believed (hoped) he would be. Marquette's pressure D will make St. John's D look like a walk in the park. Unless we get another Nova-type performance out of Neal and Ashworth is able to tough out this game with less than 3 or 4 TOs, beating the spread will be an achievement, IMO. We then have another week off, after which I am hoping we see Fedor become a much more consistent contributor with winnable games at Butler and Providence at home. Then, a tall task in Storrs. By the time we get to DePaul, we will either be in a position that we should have a shot to win each game thereafter (not saying we won't stumble in a few) and 13-14 league wins, OR we will have a pretty good idea that it just isn't going to happen this year.

Game all depends on how many times Shaka is going to be the 6th man on defense

Pregame Primer for Marquette. Feels like there's very few, if any, avenues to an upset if the Jays turn it over like they did against St. John's -- and Marquette is even more of a pest defensively that the Johnnies are.

It's always annoying seeing him on the court so much and the refs do nothing about it just once I want to see a player run into him and force the refs to call a t and keep him off the court during play.

Love the confidence, but this is the one I’ve marked as an L since watching Marquette play, especially on the road. They’re very physical and quick, Ashworth is going to have to play one of his best games of his career as PG for us to have a shot.
Kalk does mitigate Marquette’s biggest strength’s somewhat. They shoot a high number of 3s, but have been shooting at a pretty poor clip so far this year. Mac will certainly have that built into his game plan and I would expect some heavy sagging off a guy or two on the perimeter.
If Creighton can manage to make it a half court game and Marquette has to run offense to score we can stick with them, but if it’s another turnover fest we will likely get ran out of the gym.
