Now they have a week to work on getting Fedor ready to go. I’ll say it now, if Mac doesn’t get him on the floor for substantial minutes, going forward two things will happen. We will be home in March and Fedor won’t be here next year. Now that he’s eligible, he can go anywhere. Why stay if Mac doesn’t play him. Our only chance for post season is for Fedor to play and to be as good as advertised. It is time to sink or swim with him, because this team as constructed is going to finish middle of the pack and sit at home come March without him.

Interesting that with very little scoring in either game, Miller led the team for the second straight game (tie with King) in +/- at +12. Kalkbrenner was -20 today. He had a super off night, it's surprising we were still in it until the end.

I thought MIller rebounded well and played good D for whatever its worth.

+1 he needs to play. We can’t go from the shackles of the NCAA to the shackles of Mac not trusting him.

I will say Mason did rebound well tonight. He’s just not a threat anywhere else.

I guess it goes to show what a worthless statistic the +/- is, the statistic of import to me is Miller made only his FOURTH field goal today. That’s a stat that many garbage time players have exceeded, not a prior starter and now still getting significant minutes.

I agree and would also expect him to increase his minutes after these 8 days to work his way into the system. He clearly didn't look ready tonight, though. Mac may have been saving him embarrassment by limiting him to a minute.

I'm not sure how to motivate Kalk. When he's on we're really good. When we have to hit 3s we're average. I thought it was entertaining.
Green has to rebound, not just put a hand on the ball. Thomas, Green and Miller don't need to be guarded.
It's why Mitchell was on Ashworth.
I feel bad for Kalk he lost his block streak, but he was guarding way out of the paint.
Now beat them in Omaha. And maybe a neutral site

Marquette was beatable. They dont have the height and we didnt finish at the rim. We gave up many offensive rebounds....always a big problem. poor shooting night for Ash ( unusual from 3 ). I thought Miller got some key rebounds in the 2nd half that gave us a chance.
We can beat this team at home.

Feels like a team that’s either 1) eventually going to get over the hump, finish off these winnable games like tonight’s (was there for the taking), and we go on a roll to make it in the tourney or 2) we’ll have a deep run in the NIT.

No shocker, but IMHO, it depends upon if Fedor, who’s the most capable offensively of the remaining crew not named Ash, Kalk, Neal, or McAndrew, can get it together in time to make the offensive difference and be that extra nightly double figure scorer.

His shooting woes are more than frustrating but he did defend and rebound as well as anyone tonight and for whatever reason, the team played better with him on the court the last two games. Shooting is only one of many aspects of the game.

Bottom line is, we needed a great performance to beat a Top 10 Marquette on the road. Ash shot terribly and Kalk was off all around. That wasn't going to cut it. I like our chances at home, though.
