Our problem isn’t fixable: we need either Pop or peak Fedor and we don’t have either.

I’m also doubting we will see peak Fedor this season. He has nine weeks to find it and you can’t learn Mac’s system in 9 weeks.l, much less get in the shape you’d need to play it.

We are still better than half the teams in the league.

As much as I'm pleased to see the Jays battle tonight and make it a competitive game, watching Kalk miss all those bunnies was really deflating. Makes you think "what if". Neal played well, but his out-of-the-endzone pass to Kalk in the late stages was also crushing. Ash played well, especially taking care of the ball. Just wish he could have hit a couple more threes. Anyway, move on. Nobody in the conference is going to win there this year.

Credit Marquette, in particular how they crashed the boards on offense for easy put backs and made more of their open 3’s than Creighton.

However, not sure they’re a top 10 team.

Creighton missed lots of wide open 3’s and very easy bunnies (Green 1 or 2 and Kalk 3 or more). Make those easy bunnies and we’ve got a “top 10” win on the road.

However, no moral victories. Too bad Fedor had 2 quick turnovers, was really hoping he’d show more with the added practice time.

My takeaway from that game is that we can compete and beat anyone in this conference. Marquette is clearly the best team in the conference and virtually unbeatable at home.

In this game we got an absolutely brutal offensive performance from Kalk, 1-12 from three from Ash, virtually nothing offensively from Traudt, Miller, Green, or Jackson (after the early start). And yet we had a chance to make it a one possession game in the last two minutes. Very small margins that could have swung that result.

We need 40 minutes of focus from everyone. But we will usually get better offense from Kalk. We will usually get at least some better shooting from Kalk. We can get a little more at least from Traudt, Miller, Green. We can get Fedor on the floor and contributing more. Those little bits and we can beat that team in Omaha.

Great minutes from King. Great start from McAndrew. A week now to get ready for a couple winnable ones and some momentum.

We were not supposed to win this one. We made it more of a game than expected. It’s a positive overall.

Kalk getting paid all that money to miss bunnies. What a joke.

Great quote by my favorite announcer next to Raff. Unfortunately it’s been too many games over the past five years Kalk has played like this. Love the kid but too much finesse too much of the time. The effort is there but his style is painful to watch.

Surprisingly good game considering Ash went ice cold.
At Creighton Bob Gibson majored in sociology and starred in Basketball and Baseball. In 1957 Gibson received a $3,000 sign-on bonus with St. Louis Cardinals, but delayed his HOF Cards career a year to play pro B-ball with the Harlem Globetrotters.

We are a work in progress. Playing without Pop, trying to get Fedor going. We can get a lot better.

Marquette might be at their best right now. Shaka has done a good job. Let’s see how these two teams look down the stretch

Kalk’s finesse approach is why he won’t get drafted and will need to play Euroball. Still, he will make a nice enough amount of money, and maybe play for a nice city team from Spain or Italy.

Too bad we don't have a down vote button. Sure, watching Kalk have a bad game sucked. Everyone has bad games, even the best of the best. And that's not a joke.

Ya unfortunately we’ve seen enough to know he’s just not like that mentally. It’s a shame. Appreciate all he’s done and his name will be in the rafters, but I could probably count on my hand how many times Kalk actually played “mean” in big games. Most of the time when we need him in big games he looks either pouty and/or bothered by a smaller big that isn’t scared of him at all and he folds.
