This would be kind of a lateral move for d-rock unless he wants to come home for a few years before he gets a better position at Creighton. Besides, I don’t view d-rock as a one and done type of coach, he is not mercurial.

They aren't happy in Morgantown personally. He also just wants the Iowa job. But yes, on paper it's a lateral move.

I wonder what the buyout number would be, he signed a 5 year contract at average of $3 million per year. Would Iowa pay a big buyout?

37.5% of remaining so about 4.5mm. Reasonable and yes, Iowa would pay.

It was understood by everyone involved that he would leave for Creighton at some point, or Iowa if it opened. Pretty meager by industry standards.

Would be interesting if I took the Iowa job if CU opens or when CU opens in the future if he’d make that jump

I wonder whether if dominoes fell and Mac left, whether Creighton would pay that buyout? I am thinking probably not?

Iowa would be more likely to pay but yes, Creighton would

WTF? Just a couple pages ago, this thread was all about fun stuff like who’s on the all-Mac team. Now, out of nowhere, we’re taking his name off his parking space and ordering a moving van for him. Based on what? Geez, some of you guys, when somebody in your family gets the sniffles, do you start checking out funeral homes? Serenity now, everybody.
In other news, John Fanta just presented Red Panda with a commemorative golden bowl during MU-X halftime. (Let’s see her break THAT). A touching ceremony and she seemed overwhelmed. The hardest-working woman in the entire dinnerware-juggling unicyclist business. She’ll do a gig in your driveway if the price is right.

But word is, Vegas insiders are predicting she’ll sign an exclusive deal with Indiana any day now.

It’s a message board. People are allowed to discuss things. No one is taking his name of the building here..

.

And people on those same message boards are allowed to make fun of some of those people on the message board. Since it’s a message board and all.

This has got to be a mistake because there was a betting site that had predictions for the Indiana job and Mac was at the top but I'm almost positive this Iowa rumor never happened.
