Here’s my view of the starting five next year: Graves (certainly going to be primary PG), Dix (very good shooting guard, one of top portal players, signed to play many minutes), Freeman (one of top available transfer centers, will play as many minutes as conditioning and staying out of foul trouble allow), Greer (he is one of the stud freshmen this year in all of college ball, possible one and done, the type of freshman able to start from day one as has played a few years of high level ball), McAndrew (shot is getting really sweet, conditioning needs to improve a little).
Significant minutes off bench: Zugic, who was coming into his own last few games, likely 6th man off the bench; Green, will provide great rebounding and scoring off bench with significant minutes; Traudt, a gifted scorer who will provide good cover in games where foul trouble come into play for one of the starters; Dimitrijevic, solid backup center; Swartz, who is probably one of the most underrated transfers who can shoot but just needs to buy into Jays system, I think he will be a very pleasant surprise.
Thus, I see this year as one Jays will play 10 players regularly 10 minutes plus per game. Because of the numbers at guard, I don’t see Davis playing 10 minutes plus per game other than a few games. This team is the deepest Jays team I have seen. I know we were hoping the past few years we had a deep team, but I think the next year’s team is the deep team we have been waiting for. Lack of production off the bench has been the team’s biggest weakness. Jays should definitely make tournament and win first game for 6th year in a row. Team chemistry that will emerge will decide how much further they go.
