This plan doesn't seem to have anything to do with either encouraging or discouraging corporate seats. The same businesses that currently have seats would seem able to make the required donations and buy the exact same seats if they want to spend the money.

Genuine question for those who are finding the chart confusing -- I'm not sure what is confusing to people about the release or the explanations provided. It all seems pretty straightforward to me. Look at where your season ticket is, check the chart to see what donation you'll be required to make per seat and what the ticket price per seat is and you have your cost for season tickets next year. What am I missing that is confusing people, because maybe I'm totally not understanding what it's going to cost me for my tickets next year and just think I get it.

I am not sure what people in the lower bowl giving little or no donation for the last 20 years expect the Creighton Athletic department to do. Especially when they very well could be sitting next to someone that has been donating at significantly higher levels the last 20 years. Especially when there are fans without lower bowl seats willing to donate being told there are no seats available. Especially when fans are expecting us to get top level players and coaches, play top level competition, and win at the top level. You can be mad at the state of college sports but I don't see how you can be mad at Creighton.
Be thankful there was not a reseat. Be thankful there are some mega doners that allow these requirements to not be a lot higher. It is what it is. Before you attack me for being an out of touch corporate snob we are thinking of going from 4 seats to 2 seats and a longer walk from the parking lot.

Totally agree. It will cost me about $250/seat more for me, and I am fine with that.

“Corporate seat” problem is two different problems really -

* Best seats are often empty and/or taken by non-fans who don’t cheer or care.

* Many of those same seats bring in minimal revenue because a bank or local employer donated a few hundred dollars in 2003 for a block of seats when the arena opened and have re-upped every year. Despite the value of the seats increasing massively, as long as they match their previous donation they can keep the seats (I was not here in 2003 but I believe this is broadly accurate).

Repricing will definitely solve the second problem. Get the seat, you have to pay the new minimum. Now the cycle will restart but from a much higher floor.

For the problem of fans not being in the seats, most businesses are not going to be able to justify a massive increase in the cost per seat, especially the ones who have like 6-8 tickets. They will either downgrade the seats or give them up. Some will keep them as a prestige thing, or if they get heavy sales use out of them or something, but I would expect far fewer unused corporate blocks in the future.

I don' think that it is the per seat donation portion that is confusing. Probably the Jaybacker+ donation portion, which is optional but used for priority points for parking, postseason tickets, etc. It got clearer the further I read on the website.

good points. Lot A has been a sh@t show this year. We were charged for a venue that was under construction and Capital St shut down. A complete waste of money where it took more than an hour to get out. Maybe there should be a one year delay for those of us that had to handle this year's wreckage.

I think there is a misconception about "grandfather seats" in the lower bowl. I've had season tickets for 30 years and I am an alum. My lower bowl renewal price has steadily risen over the years, with a REQUIREMENT for a certain Jaybacker donation to retain your seats. I've had the same seats since we moved into Qwest/CHI in 2004 but the required donation has risen yearly. Could they take my seats away and request a bigger donation from a new season ticket holder? Probably, but it would ignore the > $70K I've donated over the years. My total expenditure next year is only about $250/seat more than what I'm already paying. The only thing accurate about saying I have "grandfather seats" is that I do take my grandkids to the game, and make sure they are becoming Jays fans.
