Ryan’s contract is the best out of the four - it is a two way contract so Dallas views him as being able to make the team, but if not, guaranteed to play in the G league, and go back and forth as needed. Also, having Jason Kidd as his coach will certainly help him a lot. I bet Dallas was his first choice to sign with and he was probably hoping not to be selected in late second round.

Ashworth, Neal and Kaluma are all Exhibit 10 contracts. Historically, these contracts are to fill summer league rosters, and while there is a chance of signing a two way contract if you excel in the summer league, most Exhibit 10 players end up playing Euro ball, as more salary can be earned in Euro league than signing a contract in G league if it is not a two way contract.

Just for the sake of the conversation, Exhibit 10 contracts are training camp contracts. They're a step up from Summer League deals. If guys on E10s get cut before the season (most likely outcome) and sign with the team's G League team, they get a bonus.
