Lumberjack Day

I'm a few days late for the anniversary, but worth the trip down memory lane!

"In the gym range, folks!!"
They were up by 41 points against the #4 team in the country on their home floor. There are no words.

There were some unbelievable promos that year. And the lines to get into the arena to see that team play are still so unmatched. That whole season -- despite the brutally crushing and heartbreaking ending -- was just such an incredible memory.

After the buzzer when Doug torched Providence on senior night that year, I was thinking how bittersweet it is that we're not going to see this team play at home again. Magical year, generational player...

Such an "advantage" as the 3 seed to play Baylor (6 seed) in San Antonio

Still annoyed by that...

Some CenturyLink highlights from 2013-14:
-- An 18-2 start against the Scurs en route to another easy win.
-- NYE curb stomping of Marquette, highlighted by the crowd causing a turnover singing Sweet Caroline.
-- Won 9th straight with a 95-89 win over X, punctuated by DEEP Wragge Bombs. Chris Mack called it a "circus show" afterward.
-- A then-record 18,859 to watch a rout of Georgetown. Five of the top 10 attendance records came this season (PC first at 18,868)-
-- Doug's 3 with 2.8 seconds left beats StJ.
-- The official Lumberjack Night win over DePaul with fans sporting beards and flannel shirts.
-- Doug scores 39 to pass Larry Bird in second win over Nova.
-- And of course, Doug's final game, against PC.

Not sure it's possible to beat the home games from that year.

I reread this at least once a year, just to reminisce. :)
