Couldn't have possibly went worse, IMO. Ryan looked vindictive and a bit clueless. I think the chances that Uthoff gets a release to all but the Big 10, and perhaps a complete release, just went up exponentially. Uthoff will probably end up at transfer U, Iowa St.
Also, if the appeal hasn't been ruled on by the time he is expected to visit us, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a last minute postponement.

Uthoff obviously wants to go to Iowa or Iowa St and if either become an option that's where he'll be.

As I understand it, the Big Ten has its own rules regarding transfers within conference and does not allow schools to grant scholarships for the rest of the transferring player's career. This has nothing to do with Wisconsin or Bo Ryan or Barry Alvarez. He will not be able to go to a Big Ten school regardless of how badly Wisconsin wants to loosen the restrictions to better their own image.

I thought the Ben Brust (or whatever) deal changed the rule. He went from Iowa to Wisconsin after coach Fran got there.
