This totally reminds me of how Napoleon Dynamite bagged Trisha to be his prom date. She had absolutely no other choice but to go with him because her mom insisted so that she could bang Uncle Rico. So right now we're Napoleon, Jarrod Uthoff is Trisha, and Bo Ryan is Trisha's mom. Uncle Rico is still probably Uncle Rico but Bo Ryan doesn't want to bang him but maybe just wants a sweet deal on that model ship in the glass bottle thing. Or maybe he does want to bang him, I don't know Bo Ryan at all.
Selfishly, I want Jarrod to come to Creighton so anything that helps that cause...
But I don't honestly understand why this rule that coaches can restrict transfer options is so strict. Coaches can come and go as they please in college athletics, but the student-athletes are hamstrung by this rule. I understand not wanting to allow a kid to transfer within the conference, but I don't get why coaches are allowed to dictate what out-of-conference schools are excluded. The whole Virginia ACC/Big Ten challenge stuff is crap IMO. You won't let the kid go to any ACC school, based off the possibility that you MIGHT get matched up against him for ONE game? Ridiculous.
I think Bo Ryan has built up a pretty good reputation so I'm not going to be quick to judge him when I don't know all the facts, but this seems a little petty at face value. Not quite as bad as the spiteful Phil Martelli situation, but it's pretty suspect. Oh well, just come and play and exciting brand of basketball with the Jays, Jarrod! Beats watching the paint dry on that picket fence at Wisconsin
