No surprises there. The three blue bloods, the Gonzaga monster and the four coaching staffs with which he's built a strong relationship since early in his recruitment.

Is UCLA not a blueblood?

That may be the case. I would have included them before seeing this post, but maybe I'm wrong.

I wouldn't put UCLA in the same category as Duke, UNC or Kansas with how the program has operated the last decade. In any regard, the reason UCLA is in his final 8 is Michael Lewis, not because it's UCLA, so I think they fall more into that last category than the first one.

Mo and Hunter banter about Hunter’s steal and dunk last night:

New crystal ball for Hunter. It’s Gonzaga.

And the guy making the crystal ball prediction is almost always right. Plus he's citing an inside scoop/source, giving his prediction high confidence that it'll happen. Uggh... I dared to dream, but this does not look promising.

If Gonzaga lands Sallis and Chet Holmgren, they could be an okay team next year. Gotta give 'em credit up there for the culture they've created.

Was thinking last week (but didn’t post) that he is either going to go to CU or Gonzaga. I think our incoming recruiting class would be a draw but when I looked at the others on his list I thought Gonzaga would be the most appealing.

Chet Holmgren may be the skinniest human being I have ever seen. He reminds me of Manute Bol body wise, but he does have major skill and plays with an edge, kinda like Christian Laetner. He damn near makes Bill O'Dowd look like Charles Atlas.

Idk anything about these teams' rosters next season, but on its face, the Gonzaga choice makes sense in that it might be easier for him to get the minutes he needs to secure the early first round selection. Compared to a Duke or Kentucky. You could make the argument that if he is truly deserving of a lottery pick he should be able to prove that anywhere. Gonzaga is still a great program, but that prediction is definitely out of left field.
