It definitely doesn't hurt having 3 guys that can handle the ball and create for others in the starting lineup. I think adding Scheierman is huge for Kaluma as it allows him to play the four which gives him a quickness advantage on pretty much everyone we play.

On the surface, you are absolutely right so I'm not arguing with you. But my hope is that you end up being absolutely wrong about the 3-spot, i.e. it turns out we DIDN'T have a glaring hole there because Mason Miller and Ben Shtolzberg are those guys and that good. Now, we just have insane depth.

My hope is that Miller and Shtolzberg follow a Gillespie, Divincenzo, Tolliver-type career path. Solid, contributing role players early on great teams that take the reigns and develop into all-conference caliber talents and leaders.

Here's hoping today is a great day.

I think Shtolzberg is more of a combo guard and Miller is more of a stretch forward. I don't see either fitting naturally at the 3 unless we go big or small. Last year with Kaluma and Hawkins (both college 4's) playing together there were definitely times where the spacing wasn't quite right and they hindered one another. Definitely agree with your last paragraph and think they will be contributors this year.

This is my first post on this board (I have the same username on Reddit if any of y’all are active on there), and just wanted to hop on and say this is so awesome. I didn’t think I could be more hype for next season yet here we are

They've never had 4 straight 20-loss seasons.

I suppose averaging 30 PPG on a team that finishes with single-digit wins might be historic for their program? *shrug*

The thing that would hold Baylor back is that everyone else has the same priority. Hard to hit 30 ppg when everyone else shoots as soon as the ball hits their hands. Even Teddy Allen could only score 16 ppg in that system.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but does anyone have a quasi-informed sense of how likely or unlikely it is that Mr. Baylor will succeed at the G League tryouts, opt for a pro contract, and then opt out of finishing up at CU?

This is just my opinion, but I’d be shocked if he stayed in the draft. I don’t think the money he’d make in the G league or on a 2nd round contract will exceed what he makes from NIL.

All his quotes about CU in the OWH article and other places make it sound like he’s for sure planning on coming to CU. I’m sure his agent wants him to to still publicly play up the fact he could stay in the draft

Bluejayfan00, you are probably right and I definitely hope you are.

The G league elite team can offer half a million. I’d be surprised if anyone on the CU roster is bringing in more than $100k. That’s just IMHO. Anybody know how much NIL guys in Omaha are getting?
