No, most recruits understand that this is a rebuilding year and will give us the benefit of the doubt, especially if we are much improved next year.

I've seen some tweets recently where Creighton has been looking at some JUCO guards. I saw today where Creighton offered guard Malique Trent from New Nexico JC. It makes sense that the coaching staff may be looking to JUCOs for more of an immediate impact with the struggles of this years team.

Yikes, Malique Trent, offering a Juco who was previously signed by NCAA powerhouse Norfolk State. Sounds like not a good offer to me.

Exactly. If we don't know what we are doing, then why are Baylor and Maryland recruiting this kid also?

Have the above schools offered? I can't find anything on him being offered by Turd or Drew. My guess is Malique is a backup plan just in case some other prospects fall thru. Good to see the coaches getting their ducks in a row.

Lack of High Major offers for Malique Trent was due to grades to ability. This kid can play, is physical and athletic.

Does anyone have any real info Trent is actually someone we want? He was not ranked by any service in HS, so can't say he was a three star with school problems. He signed with Norfolk State, and verbal commits website shows he had interest from places such as Highpoint, Stony Brook and Radford, no big schools mentioned there. No mention at all on any Google search of interest now by Baylor or Maryland or any other big school. Reviewed his JUCO stats, he is up and down, some games over twenty, some games six or eight points on two of ten or three of ten shooting. I just don't see it, seems like a hope he might work out offer, which we should not be making. Someone prove to me otherwise, I want a good recruit, but I don't think this guy is it.

I mostly found information on Trent from HS when I was trying to do some research. Most of the recruiting services had information left over from HS and most of his highlight videos were from HS.

If you want additional information to justify the offer, I saw on twitter Tenn. was also involved. I first saw a tweet that Creighton was in to look at Malique Trent and then a couple of days later saw that we offered. I think the talent evaluation part of recruiting is easier than the getting the recruit to commit part. Therefore, I trust that Mac and Co. who think he is good enough to help the team and deserves an offer. Trent is also listed as RS Fr., so he would have 3 years of eligibility left and not 2 like most JUCO transfers.

If you are looking to recruiting services or rankings I would go off of jucorecruiting.com. A guy by the name of Brad Winton covers JUCO news/recruiting. Their top 100 rankings are set to come out in early Feb and be updated multiple times. Winton's website would be the most accurate to judge Trent, rather than some of the major high school recruiting services that haven't updated Trent's profile for a couple of years.

If Trent has an offer I'm sure the coaches believe he has the ability to contribute.
“Even though I’m not playing I still don’t want my school to be disrespected, because I play for the name on the front of my chest, not the name on my back. I’m a part of this family now, and when they disrespected them they disrespected me”-Mo Watson Jr.

I have a really dumb question for those who know way more about recruiting than I do.

We've made all of these offers to a bunch of SG's. What happens if four of them decide on the same day to commit? Obviously, we don't want all of them. How does that play out? Do we have to choose the one or two we want most?

I'm sure it's a simple answer, or maybe an unrealistic possibility so you don't need an answer, but was just wondering if anyone knows.
