What do you think Creighton should target next?
Good:
- Transfer - learn offense, adjust to new system
- JUCO - available right away, adult body-handle BE
- Incoming Freshman - program building block, added athleticism
Bad:
- Transfer - have to wait a year, need help now
- JUCO - not many High Major players left
- Incoming Freshman - body not fully developed, ability to play in BE?

The big ? is who you can land. If you can get the juco and hope to get the freshman I take the juco. If you are sure you can get the freshman then I take the freshman. The transfer would last unless it's 5th year transfer who fills a huge need. Go Jays!

I'd say the "easiest" to land would be a JC, the toughest a quality freshman like Ellis. My vote is for a transfer.

If we take 2 juco's this year then those spots are open for the 2015 class which should be a great one. We all know we can't change what's going to happen but those are my thoughts.

Our senior class next year is Jahenns, Dougie and EW. If Dougie goes we can definitely use a 5th year senior to even up the classes. Hell, maybe two if really good players are available and interested in CU. We need a bridge of mercenaries to get over the "first two years hump" that comes from recruiting MVC level guys to Power Conference guys. 5th year seniors and juco's (if any are left that can help) have to be the focus over frosh of which we have three good ones already coming in plus a redshirt frosh in IZ.
I'm thinking that this is going to a be a weird couple seasons brought on by a LITERALLY once in a lifetime event. Well, I guess I was around when CU went from independent to MVC so maybe TWICE in a lifetime event!

Wow, if I could condense my opinion on what path we need to take into one paragraph, this would be it verbatim.

Take the 5th yr player and another juco - SG, both ready to play now.
Take Edwards for 2014, have to do some creative financial aid for 2013.
Rescind the verbals on the 2014 recruits.
must lv 1 available Schlolie for 2014 - Law, Travis, or Turner.
bring on the big - Alexander, from juco in 2015.

Pretty much agree with gtmo on this one. Take a juco and/or a transfer this year, rescind the '14 current commits.

Seems to me from this interview with GMac on 590 today that coach is thinking that we need immediate adjustment. The end of the interview speaks to this. I must agree. If you get off on the wrong foot (ie, 2 or 3 straight bottom feeder seasons) you may get stuck there (see Depaul and Seton Hall).

I have a gut feeling we are close to landing two transfers that will have immediate powerful impact for the team. They fit the coaches suggestion as they are a slashing scorer and a big that can play next year. Wink, wink know what I mean?
