This is a typical Ed schedule, which is to say medium difficulty. Different approach than Xavier, UConn, and St John’s which play difficult schedules where it is a challenge to go .500.
“...When people ask me where I went to school at, I probably won’t even say the other school anymore. It’s just gonna be Creighton. This is where I grew, where I learned to be a man and a basketball player. This is where I became Jamiya Neal.”

That will all change next year. The non-con to start next year is going to be great. A couple of trips to Southern Cal, Texas, New Orleans and South Florida. This program will look extremely different next year. I am not counting out this year, there is some talented gritty dudes on this team. If the arms stay healthy they are in good shape. Do not expect to see Nissen this year unfortunately. By the way UNCG is off to a great start, Portland will compete for the WCC title, COC this week will be really good and Samford in a couple weeks will be tough as well. They also will be playing K-State twice in the next couple of weeks.

How do you know next year's schedule already? They don't usually release it until fall the year before. Also, what do you know about Nissen? That would hurt to not have him in the rotation. What is his injury if you are at liberty to say? I'll find out soon enough though. I'll just ask one of the parents of the team like I usually do. You're right on about UNCG and Portland. COC will be really tough this weekend, yes. But I believe we'll sweep COC this weekend! The bats are hot, and our pitching has been solid. Samford will be tough too, yes. Good insightful post and analysis. How has K-St been so far? I haven't had a chance to look. Go Jays! Great post.

Great win for the Jays! Against a tough opponent, who is 6 and 3 now with the loss to us. Will be interesting to see who starts on the mound tomorrow. My guess is Burke. Go Jays!

Langrell got the save; perhaps he's our closer. Unga will still be formidable out of the bullpen. Grad student Matthew Aukerman got his second win of the young season. And Wendt wasn't horrible. In three starts and 11 innings of work so far, if my math is correct, he's only given up 3 runs. Not bad. Sailors had 3 hits, and MacLean hit a hr. Our only error was an error by Wendt. Scherrman seems to have gotten himself out of the doghouse with his hustle and good offense and better defense in the final game of last weekend's series. He started at 3rd.

Jays take the series with an 8-4 outing today. Bit of a slow start, but bats woke up as the game went on and pitching was pretty solid throughout.

Lol, good one. I'd like nothing more than Ed to win the national championship or at least to make the CWS in his final year, and I'm actually glad Blossom allowed him and gave him this opportunity for this final year, while also bringing in a seasoned and savvy veteran coach like Coach Kingston. More than happy to eat my words. But, since you brought it up, I don't regret posting that. It came from a passion and love for Bluejay baseball that is deep rooted and ingrained in me since I went to games at Seymour Smith back in the day and then at the old CU Sports Complex. So make jokes at my expense if you want; I don't mind. We can all agree though that winning this series this weekend was solid, and it's a good start to the season. I wanted Ed fired because we hadn't qualified for the conference tournament two years in a row in what is widely not considered a good baseball conference. I stand by what I wrote. Go Jays.

Agreed. 100%!! Nolan Sailors has been awesome so far. Batting above .375 so far through 9 games. Our bullpen was solid yesterday! I like our pieces. CoC had beaten #14 Wake Forest in the midweek. UNO beat LSU in one game. Our non-conference schedule is strong. Even K-State is on our schedule, and they beat Nebraska. I think we are showing already that we are gritty and resilient. I mean, we didn't fold after getting killed in the game on Saturday 18-6. Nope... instead we bounced back and got the win! I'm very impressed with Magers, Unga, and Langrell so far. Also Capece has been solid behind the plate.
