Plus, we've had many short form posts here in the thread today during today's game - some by some other posters which is awesome to see. Even some in-game, very short-form commentary, even a few by me, believe it or not. So if you do prefer short form, then you're in luck! I'd just prefer to stick to Jays baseball on this thread though. Hope you'll do the same. Glad you're participating though; we sure wouldn't want to be without your positivity and your overall supportive and encouraging attitude, especially for James Joyce and Jays baseball.

All I’ve read is that you’re helping your wife clean the house, you have guests coming over, but you want everybody else to stick to just talking about baseball in this thread. Am I caught up, or did I miss something in your word jungle?

Either contribute something yourself or stop hating on the top poster in this thread. Go jays.

Thanks for your reply and support. I appreciate it. I really do. I'm just a big Creighton baseball fan, and I was pumped about the win today! Not sure what Jaybird's problem is with me, but he seems to want to pick a fight with me rather than just support the Jays. In any case, I hope we can all stick to Jays baseball on this thread, and I'm excited and happy a few others posted today about the game (and about the game yesterday).

Just ignore them man. I don’t get to watch any games (no espn+) so my only source of baseball news is you and statbroadcast

You're not sure? Well, maybe I can help jog your memory.

You're the guy who led the pitchforks-and-torches "FIRE SERVAIS NOW" mob mid-season last year. Remember? I do. Oh, wait, That's not quite right. You WERE the mob, along with your one faithful sidekick, the NYC husker troll. Nearly every post of yours was the same one-note rant, and every page had at least one of 'em.

So, it's not your endless run-on paragraphs that are impossible to read, and it's not your ten posts in the top half of the first inning today. (It's one thing to breathe a little life into the baseball forum--that's obviously a good thing, although it's the middle of February and interest would have picked up in a while anyway. But it's another to suck all the oxygen out of it. There's not much room to discuss baseball when you're narrating every ball and strike like you're trying to be an online Vin Scully).

So, no, it's not those things. It's how you kept kicking Ed when he was down, demanding a mid-season firing and humiliation, like we're some NHL franchise. People who are so quick and cavalier about firing other people, especially somebody who's given his career to the school, just kind of piss me off.

Oh, and btw, if I wanted to pick a fight with you, a gentle reminder about paragraphs would be a really weird way to do it. But you chose to take the suggestion as non-constructive.

Good point. It's not worth replying especially to his non-Jays baseball posts on here. However, I try to take the high road. I mean, I just care about Creighton baseball, a lot. I got to every game, every season and have since I was born basically, and I'm almost 40. In any case, that's cool you follow closely still. I do wish they'd have the road games on the radio like they used to. They only have the home games on the radio now, which I guess is still nice, since you can at least hear the broadcast while at the concession stand or in the bathroom in between innings, or on the rare occasion I can't make a home game, I try to listen. And, yeah, funny you should mention the stat broadcast. I use that a lot too, especially for road games like this series; I like to pull up the gametracker even while watching or following, just so I can see the stats - see who on our team is hitting well or not during a certain game and who is due for a hit, know who is coming up in the batting order, etc., and how a pitcher is pitching (it even updates the ERA with every at bat or every out). Anyway, the gametracker I noticed wasn't working properly for both yesterday's game or today's at first, at least on D1baseball.com. Then, I discovered that today it did work if you clicked on the link for the stats on the gocreighton.com website. So, even getting the live stats during a game sometimes can be tricky. So I try to do my best to post not only my thoughts and analysis here but also sometimes even update the board on what is happening throughout a game. I also follow the Creighton baseball twitter handle, which still does provide some pretty frequent in game updates as well as some video highlights occasionally, which is cool to see. They showed Conor's rbi single yesterday to bring in Hess. The team was quite pumped and seemed to have good chemistry and camaraderie which is good to see this early on in this season. Much of last season we seemed lifeless especially during the bad stretch in conference. I'll try to stick to baseball posts here, and I hope others will do the same. And I'll just stay positive and optimistic. I am generally a positive person, and I am quite confident we will make the tournament this year, at least the conference tournament finally, which would bode well for making the NCAA tournament too. Go Jays.

I've found when a gametime has changed, to go to the home teams' website. I went to Portland Athletics after it wasn't at gocreighton.com. probably a preprogrammed setup.
If this is too short of a post, I apologize

Good and informative post, not too short at all! Thanks for posting and for letting us know. I know I appreciate it, as I was searching everywhere for a link that worked these last few days! Anyway, I'll try to keep the posts short, since Jaybird gets headaches from my long posts, though others might like them, but we'll never know. In any case, Go Jays! Gametime in 1.5 hours. I sure hope the link works today, as I'll be at the basketball game, so I hope to follow while there! I know Ed will have us ready to get the series win!

Well, today's game was rained out! We here on the board were worried about that; I know I was. I even posted about it a few days ago and yesterday, hoping that Ed was right that we'd get all the games in this week if the weather could just hold off just enough; but it wasn't meant to be. Oh well... 3-3 to start the season with two road series against two solid squads who almost made the tournament last year is good. Good 2-1 series win this weekend. Now on to Charleston. College of Charleston is going to be tough too. I think they even won 40 games last year, which is basically the equivalent of winning 20 games in college basketball's regular season. Hope we can keep it going. I do hope Dom is back soon, same with Eli Nissen, as we need them both and will definitely need them in the conference season! Go Jays! I was disappointed not to be able to follow on gametracker today during the Jays basketball game this afternoon. I am really looking forward to next weekend though; it should be another tough early season test and a good measuring stick to see where this team is at.
