I would imagine that Mac would absolutely do that for Foster or Custer - and he should. As for our needs next year, he is running things on his own schedule, because if he was feeling squeezed there's no way he would have taken both Wop and Huff while redshirting Harrell.

Remember, he was set to go into the season with that team MINUS Kreklow, who floated in after we were 'set'. You can throw rocks at that decision if you like, but to me those are the actions of a guy who is building his team and for the long haul and is not sweating 2015/16 or any effect it might have on his job.

Which is why I suspect that Mac saw Mulder as the right guy and who happened to be able to help right away as a bonus rather than targeting someone immediately eligible.

Unless something else budges, I don't see how we add to next season's on-floor team.

That's why the NCAA needs to bring back the 5-8 rule. The amount of transfers and the one and done is out of control.

God forbid a kid wants to go make a living or get more playing time or get out of a situation where a cosh probably lied to him to get him to go there or get out of a situation where his coach bolted because they don't have to sit out a year when they love schools.

No issue with a kid making a living, BUT the schools are not responsible for aiding them in that by providing the ability for them to do a 1 and done that essentially makes a joke of the student athlete image.

I agree. The "a Kentucky offer is imminent" tweet absolutely seems like the Kentucky coaches putting something out there in the media so this kid will hang on the line for a while so they can scope out better prospects first. If they said something like Kentucky is going to evaluate him out then maybe but this imminent offer garbage sounds way too much like a ploy for time. Not that it matters to us. If he wanted to come here he'd have committed already.

So it's your belief that a school should not facilitate a kid's desire to find a career? Hot take, my friend.

You could certainly be right. But I don't think it matters. The fact that he is planning a visit to Indiana and likely, Kentucky, makes it clear he wasn't overly impressed with Creighton. He's waiting for a "name" offer.

I'm inclined to agree with this logic. Perhaps Mac & staff thought he could be a "bonus" if you will - come in and be a immediate difference maker.
Based on the fact that we don't seem to have any active 2015 offers left (besides Mulder, but he's probably out at this point), it appears to me that the coaches might be comfortable with the roster we have for next year (and don't feel that there are any major needs) and would rather use the open scholarship (or two if someone walks-on) for 2016-17.

All the bickering aside, its sad to see us miss out on another player we really could have used. It's becoming apparent that the conference move did not have as many immediate recruiting benefits as was previously thought. Whatever it is - appeal of location, program tradition, our reputation as a private mid major in the midwest - there is something that's keeping all of these recruits from choosing CU. Is this what its like to be Northwestern?
