Nobody knows which way he's leaning.

Really? Over Maurice at the PG? Surely you jest.

Obliquely, this is what I was trying to get at. Our guards look pretty good on paper for the next couple of years. Is Frankamp clearly a better starter over the incumbent Watson, Milliken, Zierden group in year one?

Wichita State is currently stacked too, with Baker and Van Vleet, but maybe they'll be bolting for the NBA?

So does CU have any good guards? Does he care more about playing time than playing on a team capable of making it to the tourney?

It's insanely early to be assuming or guessing who will start NEXT season. But I honestly think there's no way Frankamp starts over Mo. Maybe he starts WITH him and plays the 2, and we just have a small backcourt to go a long with a really big frontline with 6'8 Huff, and 6'9/6'10 Hegner/Hanson/ or whoever starts at those spots. Mo came here to have the keys to the offense right away. Also, what does Frankamp do better than Mo? The only thing I've seen is shooting, and Mo isn't a bad shooter, Connor is just a very, very good one. Mo is quicker, faster, much better passer, much better defender, much better slasher and finisher. He really was one of the best and most underrated PG's in the nation last year. There's a reason teams like Kansas were interested.

I don't think hilltopalum thinks he would start in place of Mo I would guess he think he would start with Mo. It was gtmo that said that. Playing time next year will be tough to come by. Our second 5 will be very good. Hope everyone buys in. The result be fun to watch. Go Jays!

Don't know if a 6'0 160 lb player can guard half the starting two guards in the Big East. Even if you don't trust the rep that Connor brings from Kansas he would still be at a real disadvantage physically. I would rather see him come off the bench to spell minutes at both the 1 and 2 where he wouldn't be exploited defensively

He needs a year of S&C, but the reality is that teams can play 2 smaller guards and win even at the highest levels:

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketb ... -boatright

At the combine Napier measured in at 5-11, 175

In our system Frankamp would be an elite offensive weapon, he'd be on the floor with Watson as much as possible. Is also a very capable defender. Our SG right now is 6'2''

+1. There is an old lesson in basketball that you want to make your opponent match up to you instead of you worrying about how you will match up to them. Didn't Mac prove that was true last year? As for my buddy GTMO's suggestion that this is a Conner v. Mo issue, let me make a couple of observations. If you go back and look you will note that GTMO has been opposed to the Jay's signing Conner from the start. Fortunately we all are accustomed to GTMO's hyperbole and take it with a grain.... Because he doesn't like the recruit it is somewhat understandable that he creates a situation which places Conner at greatest disadvantage, i.e. limiting Conner to playing the point. Mo is a pure point guard. Connor is a combo guard. That is the role he was recruited for at Kansas and that would be the role he would play here, ala IZ and James and Devin. In as much as Conner was recruited to Kansas to play as a combo, if he could play in the Big 12 in that role, is it that big a stretch to see him playing that role in the Big East. Mac's judgment seems to be pretty good on these things, and he seems to go a decent job managing PT, roles and combinations. I guess if he's good enough for Mac, that's good enough for me.

Nice speech by my buddy mredle. Fact is Conner did not play (2-3 mins per game mop up) for KU.
Bill Self claimed the kid was play significant minutes this season. The Frankamps quit.
I did not frame an argument to belittle the kid. Hilltop was vague in his declaration - I was looking for clarification.

So GTMO when Kansas had to press Conner into service in the NCAA tournament, how did this freshman kid (that only saw mop up duty during the regular season) do?
