still lots of time! A few years ago Lutz and the Jays got on Isaiah Taylor who was lightly recruited. Dude went on to Texas and is now a star. Plus important to keep close to all these guys who commit -- real early to give up on lots of these guys.

I think Thomas is officially in the '16 class now as prep school will set back the clock a year for him. I don't think there's an issue with having him and a shooter like McQuaid on the roster at all nor an issue with them both being on the court at the same time in various situations. Different games, different skill sets.

He was in the '14 class. Unless he goes Juco, I thought he was now in the 2015 class. I also know that all of the Khyri Thomas / CU talk started when McQuaid was still an SMU commit.

Thomas is in the 2015 class; he's at the prep school right now.

If he can get eligible, he would be a solid add for sure. He's more of a slasher though, not what I think many would call a shooter.

You're correct. Thanks for the correction.

That is true, and I think there are still doubts about whether or not Thomas would ever make it to campus. I do like his athleticism, though, and think he could be a player somewhere if he gets qualified.

How does Buie stack up against the other PGs we are after? Doesn't appear to have the offer list as others.

Bumping it up, so the non-obsessives can see how things stand at this time, based on what I've seen online. It's easy to understand why some of us are very focused on McQuaid (and concerned about his UT and MSU options) and hopeful, if not super optimistic, about Clarke. There's a major recruiting assessment gap between those two and any of the realistic options. Maybe Buie, Thomas, Blackwell or someone who's not currently on the radar will be the next Marcus Foster, Isaiah Taylor (thanks for the reminder, Hilltop, although I dread seeing a repeat with the much more touted McQuaid), Ron Baker et al., but when other Big East schools are landing guys like Jessie Govan and Haanif Cheatham or may be landing guys like Jalen Brunson or Henry Ellenson, high expectations for Creighton will have to be based more on hope than reality if we repeatedly find our recruiting classes in the bottom half of the league.

Still lots of options left. While some are concerned that we've missed on guys and are behind in terms of commits this year, things can change quickly. If we get a positive result with McQuaid or Clarke, suddenly the class is in great shape. In fact, either one of those guys along with Patton would likely be the highest rated class in Creighton history. Even if we miss on those two, which is certainly possible, given the pedigree of the other schools involved, I'm confident we're all going to be happy when 2015 recruiting wraps up. We've got a top-40 player committed. Add in a couple other pieces, even if they aren't "blue chippers", and that's still a heck of a class. Now obviously, the other Big East schools are doing their part. There's the potential for the Big East haul for 2015 to surpass that of 2014 in terms of top recruits; which would be staggering considering last year the Big East led all conferences in terms of top recruits per team. We have to keep pace if we want to remain competitive. But I'm confident the staff wouldn't waste their time recruiting guys they didn't think could cut it in the Big East. Things are going to be just fine.

Doesn't have an offer list like others, but he'd be a good option as an understudy to Mo Watson for two years before taking the reigns. From what I've read, he has big time upside and is a smart player. He plays HS ball with top-40 player Jessie Govan at Wings Academy in Bronx, NY.
