I guess if you're a Michigan State you stockpile at a spot and discard the vanquished down the road a year or two.
Good reminder on Ahrens, I forgot they landed him already. Physically they are pretty similar. Ahrens committed after recovering from a broken leg his junior year, so no worries about him coming back from his injury, he's already back.
That is what many of these high profile teams do, they go get a recruit and then they go get another guy in your slot as well and someone is "surprised" to become a role player. McQuaid can obviously help a team as a designated shooter off the bench which might be the way MSU is looking at him, but I think he can be a lot more on the right team. Creighton's certainly shown the ability to develop more and more aspects to a kid's game over his time in Omaha, but to do that the players need reps and minutes, not a role as a specialist only.
