This is usually a pretty fun event to go to. With my family living in Grand Island and relatives that go to one of the school that participates in this annually, I have gone for years (when the Jays don't play though). My parents' neighbor is also the organizer in the event and has done a great job getting top teams in Nebraska to commit to it. They have to commit a year in advance as even though it basically is a 'Bracketbuster' event for high school teams, NFHS has a rule that you cannot add games/schedule games during the season (as is the case with the BB event in college where they announce the opponents at a later date).

The first couple years had the teams with Wes Eikmeier from Bergan, Jesse Carr from Ainsworth, Elliason and Chadron, the Smith brothers from Ralston, and so on. Last year Oak Hill Academy played Omaha Central in the marquee game, and that is like the Denver East game this year.

Speaking of Jesse Carr, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that a recurring injury has ended his playing career early at CSU. Unfortunate.
