Whitt had a very impressive evening in a win over the Iowa Mavericks. The quick and fluid scoring guard has a good-looking shot, although it wasn't falling consistently, and he created looks for himself on a regular basis by beating defenders off the dribble and trying a few pull-up jumpers.
Whitt was awesome in the 16U championship game. The sophomore combo guard was very good with the ball in his hands. He is shifty and knows how to open himself up and get room to elevate on his high arching jump shot that he was very efficient with. Grabbing 16U Co-MVP honor, Whitt scored 16 points in the title game and played well all tournament long.
Whitt scored at will for KC Run GMC in their win over the Wisconsin Swing in the 16U Semifinals. The sophomore showed some good bounce and lateral quickness, freeing himself from his defender. In the 16U title game, Whitt came through for KC Run GMC with a team-high 15 points and a big second half to help spark the comeback victory. The talented guard then followed that up with another strong effort in the title game to help fuel the KC Run GMC squad to the 16U Platinum Division Championship this past weekend.
Whitt’s stock continues to soar as he put on another great display of basketball Sunday. Whitt was solid with his handles, constantly consistently attacking the gaps in the defense to get to favorable spots on the court to knock down his mid-range jump shot. The young guard excelled in the fast break as well, showcasing his ability to get up as he put down an impressive dunk. Whitt finished with 14 points.
