WBR's Kenneth Daly talked to Joe Burton, a 2014 recruit out of Porter, Texas that was recently offered by CU. He's an extremely athletic wing and the Jays would love to get him.

Demery is visiting, Gilmore is visiting, Macura is visiting. Time for everyone (including me at times) to settle down and let the recruiting process happen!! :P

Macura's disinterest in CU became formal when we didn't make his final 11 this week. To be frank, though, I would rather be in Demery's final five than Macura's final 11. After Macura took that unofficial and talked about playing with Doug, he stopped mentioning us in interviews. Demery's interest in CU is high, and he's a higher rated recruit than Macura.

We'll see who is accurate and who is not. Your guy says he talked to Macura "last month".

August 7, 2013, Jake Brown, Goldandblack.com...While Macura has yet to narrow things down he is looking also at visits to Iowa State, Creighton, Xavier, Vanderbilt and Kansas State. Earlier this week, he checked out another practice at Minnesota, about a half hour trek from Lakeville...

Jaysker,

"Official" is not something I would use to describe any recruiting story until they sign an LOI.

Some sources say that Macura is still looking to visit CU.

I agree with Ljay.....lets see how the process plays out. There is a lot more going on than is reported and the stuff that is reported can't be considered 100% accurate all of the time.

Who knows where we stand with Macura, but the final 11 refers to Rashad Vaughn, "the nation's top senior shooting guard", not Macura:

"Macura will definitely make his decision before former Cooper High School star Rashad Vaughn, who is signing in the spring. The nation’s top senior shooting guard narrowed his list of colleges to 11 this week. In no order they are Baylor, Iowa State, Kentucky, North Carolina, Connecticut, Kansas, UNLV, Arizona, Georgetown, UCLA and Minnesota."

I'm on board. Expecting to get summer verbals from guys who haven't been to campus and that we have been recruiting for a relatively short period of time was probably unfair.

Get the guys on campus. While other schools take them to football games, we can continually tell them that at those schools basketball players are always second in stature to FB players. At Creighton however, we are all basketball, all of the time and hoopers are the BMOCs.

PS - As to Macura, I think he was a pretty heavy lean toward Butler all the way up to the time that Stevens left for the Celtics. After Stevens' departure, I think everything changed.
"But I truly care about Creighton and the fans and what they've done for me the last three years. I want to give them one more year and take care of business in the Big East so we can prove people wrong.'' ---- Doug McDermott

Quick scan of recent CU mentions/articles for 2014 guys.

James Demery
JP Macura
Tum Tum Narin
Leon Gilmore III
Josh Cunningham
Joe Burton
Riley LaChance "Evan Flood says he is a Baylor lean"
Bryant McIntosh
Sam Logwood
Isaiah Wright
Marcus Bartley
Jaylen Barford
Zach Smith
Paul Thomas
Peyton Aldridge
Nate Mason
Ronnie Harrell

I'm sure Joey and Vinny know of more guys but this seems like a decent list of talent that we are still involved with.

Why don't we have a Cunningham thread? I heard we're in his last three but can't seem to find anything about it anywhere.
