Well according to BluejayCafe Twitter last night, Lourawls Nairn told Perrault he plans to cut his list to 4 or 5 in "coming days". Would love to get this kid. He is one of the quickest guys I've seen with the ball and he can finish really well for his size.
"Just talked to 2014 PG #Creighton target @lourawlsnairn "Tum Tum". Extremely impressive young man with game to match. No. 61 in Rivals150"
"According to @lourawlsnairn - he will look to trim his list to "4 or 5 teams" in the coming days. #Creighton"

Lourawls? Sweet!

If we sign him, we have to bring Johnnie Mathies back for an alumni game; I want the legendary signers to battle it out!

I don't have any inside info re "imminent" signings. By the same token it was two days ago where we are reading a blurb from a Minnesota writer asking if Creighton has 10 coaches recruiting because we are everywhere. I'm learing that there is a real "Chicken Little" mentality that thrives in this environment. "No news must mean bad news" seems to be the watch words. My diagnosis: An extreme inferiority complex.

Actually, there's been tons of CU recruiting news throughout the entire summer.

But next to none of it has turned into anything positive

Right - I was just debunking mredle's statement that people are freaking out because we haven't heard any news. We've heard plenty of news, but none of it's good.

Oh. Right. Although, it 's not all bad. Gilmore and his mother have shown a sincere interest in taking an official here. We're currently after a highly rated PG whose parents are both alum. And if I'm not mistaken, we're in on a Sam Logwood, 78th in the ESPN 100 and we're one his his 2-3 high major offers?

I haven't read a thing about Logwood being interested in us. Everything I have read makes it sound like Auburn. Plus his running mate just took an official to Purdue (or will this week) and sounds hot on going there.

I doubt the Huss connection will be enough with either one of them.

Anyone else check out verbalcommits.com from time to time? It's not always accurate, but it's probably the best free site I've found, and the twitter embedding is a nice touch, especially for those of us who don't follow recruits (I know a lot of college hoops fans and a ton of college football fans do, with a fair number of fans sending lots of tweets to the kids- fair enough, at least on the follow front, not the tweeting to the players front, I guess, but my feed has enough junk as is, and my self-imposed Creighton fandom limit stops at a certain point). I do think some recruit tweets, following lists, and followers lists can provide as much recruiting insight as any other free internet info, and some of the recruits are definitely attracted to the attention.

I had too much spare time this afternoon, so spent about 20 minutes looking through Creighton's recruits, per Verbal Commits, and noticed that Nairn follows Coaches Mac and Lutz, and McIntosh follows Coach Mac, and Lutz. I didn't take the time to look at all the recruits. None of that stuff is terribly predictive, I’m sure, but if a player is following staff or recruiting writers from several schools not named Creighton, I’m guessing that they’re not too interested in being a Bluejay. Similarly, if at least one of our coaches is following a kid and that kid is following one of our coaches, there’s got to be some mutual interest.

From what I’ve seen, some kids appear to not really follow college coaches. Just like some college coaches choose not to follow recruits. I’m sure eventually there will be sites that go beyond Verbal Commits and compile all the data that’s out there to the point that if you click on player x, you can see not just the usual “interest” and “offer” BS, but see more about visits, when the offer was made and who has been offered since that offer, which coaches have seen him play which games, what coaches, beat writers or recruiting writers he is currently or has been connected to on twitter or whatever other platform is around, what school-specific tweets he’s retweeted or responded to, etc. If schools can build practice, living, and eating palaces for kids, and coaches can make millions, it’s only a matter of time before these greater details are available for us fans who help fund all the excess (i.e., the market is there, and there is bound to be more than a trickle of free info, too), even those of us who follow teams without a legion of paid and unpaid reporters. It would save us obsessive fans the weekly 30 minutes to a couple hours scouring the web for what’s relatively easy to find.

Also noticed that Talbert’s recruiting has not picked up as some had expected, and Norton, with his size and injury concerns, may have no D-1 offers at this point. So, I really hope that the periodic hand wringing on here never gets to the point that those decommitments are lamented.
