I'm not convinced that we can get top flight 2014 kids with such a short window to develop a relationship with them. You start talking with these kids as sophs or even earlier and hope to reap the rewards by the start of their senior year. I'm relatively sure that the kids in the 2014 class we are trying to get are now not kids we were going after until the Big East happened. We were going after the Ezra Talbert's and Jay Knuth's (just commited to Loyola) of the world.

Again, I believe we will start seeing results in 2015 and beyond.

More good news for the Big East......time to join the show

Villanova just got a commitment from Phil Booth, #63 ranked on Scout, a 4-star SG from Baltimore, 6'-4", 180 lbs. Another 4-star for Villanova in 2014, along with 6'-6" SF Mikal Bridges.

Great news for the Big East, as he's the 8th Top-100 prospect who has committed to the Big East for 2014 (out of only around 42 players so far). Of the 42 commits (Scout) for 2014, 8 are Big East, 8 are ACC, 7 are Big Ten, 6 are SEC, 5 are PAC-12, 4 are AAC, and 1 each for the WCC, Mountain West, and MAC. No Big 12 commits yet.

Top 100 recruits by conference in 2014 so far:

ESPN
ACC-8
B1G-7
BE-6
SEC-5
AAC-4 (3 for Louisville in AAC next year; ACC after)
P12-3
MW-1
WCC-1

SCOUT
ACC-8
BE-8
B1G-7
SEC-6
P12-5
AAC-4 (3 for Louisville in AAC next year; ACC after)
MW-1
WCC-1
MAC-1

RIVALS
ACC-10
B1G-8
BE-6
SEC-5
P12-4
AAC-4 (3 for Louisville in AAC next year; ACC after)
MW-1
WCC-1

AVERAGE
ACC-8.66
B1G-7.33
BE-6.66
SEC-5.33
P12-4

MW-1
WCC-1
MAC-.33

one or two solid 5th years next season could really help bridge the gap.

You tell 'em mredle! It is way too early yet... the staff is far from done.
The jays will get the uplevel talent and athleticism needed... 4 year guys, not Jucos or transfers.

Patience and a little faith guys, patience and faith. ;)

I don't have any inside info re "imminent" signings. By the same token it was two days ago where we are reading a blurb from a Minnesota writer asking if Creighton has 10 coaches recruiting because we are everywhere. I'm learing that there is a real "Chicken Little" mentality that thrives in this environment. "No news must mean bad news" seems to be the watch words. My diagnosis: An extreme inferiority complex.

No one gives a crap about your diagnosis. People are nervous because they realize the importance of the next couple of classes, but haven't seen anything concrete on the four months since we joined.

There would be a lot less fretting if we could get some visits but to my knowledge we haven't had a single official one yet. So don't get pissy about people assuming that where there is smoke, there's fire.

i'm certainly not giving up on this year - but - we're gonna be pretty lean on experience (among a laundry list of other things) - and a 5th year could really help that situation out.

Actually, there's been tons of CU recruiting news throughout the entire summer.
