From a Marquette fan over on the Holy Land:

Marquette and Creighton are playing in the same tourney in Anaheim because the field was set before the conference change occured so they'll be on opposite sides and hopefully not play unless it's for all the marbles. It's going to be announced tomorow but I was told by a source that Marquette will play Calstate Fullerton with Miami and George Washington on their side and Creighton will play Arizona St with San Diego St and Charleston on their side.

Tough draw for us, Arizona State will be better this year (with Jermaine Marshall from Penn State) to go along with Carson and Bachynski (their 7'2 guy, no GE to guard him).

Wow, pit two of the three best teams against each other in the first round...nice tournament...on the home floor of a podunk school and get hosed on the first round matchup.

Yipee!

No doubt ASU will be good this year. Carson is an amazing talent, and Bachynski could go off against us. But, I think they'll miss Carrick Felix at least as much as we'll miss Gregory. Will also be interesting to see how Marshall and Carson share the ball (if they get occasionally get in a Drmic and Marks vs. Creighton groove, they'll be deadly). Kind of like another 2013 NIT team, Iowa, there is a lot of pressure on ASU to show quite a bit more than they did last season.

The more competition the better. Bring it. I like our chances.

Waittt a minute. Don't the Wooden organizers know of the Jays history with CS Fullerton (before they were in the state college system and known as Fullerton State)

I miss those old rivalries Fullerton St, Wyoming, and my favorite - Fresno State. I was hoping we'd have the opportunity to renew our old rivalry with the Titans. Damn.

Major conference schools don't need to worry about their non-con schedule as much as mid majors do. 8-)
