The Huskers only get about 1,000 into our gym for the annual red bludgening. How would the Chickenhawks get 6,000 tickets to this game? Do you really think thousands of Creighton fans would sell their Creighton vs. Kansas tickets? Really?

Because KU fans can't get tickets to Allen Fieldhouse. It's the same reason they flock to KC, Chicago, Omaha, Houston, San Antonio etc etc to watch the Jayhawks on the road. It's also a fact that KU fans reside outside of Kansas because they're "glory hunters" and don't get a chance to travel to Lawrence to see a game. You can't get a home ticket (non-student) for KU games - sans non-con games against New Orleans or Coppin State - unless you pay $500+. And you can't even get a season ticket without first paying money into the KU basketball fund which puts you into a certain part of the waiting list for home season tickets.

Yes, I do think Creighton fans would sell their tickets because traveling KU fans are willing to pay outrageous amounts of money. And I don't know why Creighton wouldn't take advantage of the fact that KU fans will stupidly pay high amounts to see the Jayhawks, that they wouldn't raise prices for that game.

Bluejayhawk - You're not exactly endearing yourself. Read more post less. The Clink would never be 1/3 full of the opposing team's fans. And congratulations, KU fans travel well because there's droves of bandwagoners. Just like there's thousands of Yankees, Manchester United, LA Lakers fans wherever they play.

I would never want CU to schedule KU and I hope they never do.

No opponent can get 1/3 of the people in the C-Link. The season ticket base is a higher percentage than 2/3 of all seats.

Plus if Kansas were to hit the docket it'd be an instant sellout - and those tickets will largely go to CU fans.

All I can think of is when Bill Self came on Nick's radio program probably 3-4 years ago and said under no circumstances would KU play CU unless it was at an early season tourney - not even a one-and-done at Phog. No way.

Even though we're upgrading leagues, I'm guessing that's probably still in force.

panhandle....you never want CU to schedule KU? WTH?

I would love to watch that.

I'm sure a few CU fans and more than a few business groups with tickets would sell for cash, but even more would love to go watch CU play KU in Omaha.

I don't think they would get 1/3 KU fans but it would be fun to find out.

I have to endear myself to you? I didn't get that memo. And I've followed Creighton basketball enough to know what I'm talking about. I'm simply using actual reality to make a point. Nor am I saying that KU is better because they/we have bandwagon fans. I graduated from KU, thus...I'm not a bandwagon fan, so I don't really care.

I'm simply saying that the reality is KU travels well and because the supply of home tickets is so low and it's nearly impossible to get for anything under $300 - given the high demand in Kansas and surrounding states - the logical conclusion is that there would be a ton of KU fans at a Creighton game. Full stop.

You read it right. I wouldn't want to see it. Just like I hated watching CU play UNC and Duke. I don't like to get all excited about it pre-game only to see my team lose by 20. Not much fun to watch. But I guess others are gluttons for punishment.

Our schedule will always be tough given our conference. No need to schedule KU. Yes, I realize how ironic that is now that we've moved conferences.

Creighton's season ticket holders are 13,000+ if my memory serves me right. That would require KU fans to take the remaining amount of Gen Ad., PLUS some more away from the ticket holders. Doesn't sound like you've followed CU close enough. Much to learn you do. Yes, mmmm.

Probably the best we'd ever do with KU would be two games in Lawrence and one "neutral" game in KC. Maybe one in Lawrence and one in KC but I doubt it. The one in Lawrence and one in KC scenario would be a no-brainer from our standpoint.

As far as 1/3 KU fans at a home Creighton game, there is absolutely zero chance of that happening. We'll probably never know but I'd guess it'd be probably around 15,000 CU fans and KU with maybe 3,000 or so.
