Just a heads up but for the Wooden Legacy tournament, I won't be surprised if Arizona State is on our side of the bracket and we play them at some point once again in this tournament.

On the topic of delusional UNI fans, I think my Jayhawks can be partly to blame for that. Never should have lost to that Ali Farukme...whatever his name is. Having grown up in Des Moines, I have a number of friends that went to UNI and they are outrageously delusional.

I'd love to see Creighton play Drake but I'd much rather see Creighton talk to Iowa, Iowa State or even...KU. I'm well aware that the guys over at Allen Fieldhouse don't like traveling to "smaller schools" but with CU headed to the Big East, that's a great chance for a big H/H in KC and Omaha. It's a very easy drive on I-29 and KU fans travel well to Omaha.

As nice as that would be, the good folk in Junction City, err...Lawrence, will not want to risk giving CU too much national "street cred" by having a H and H with your KU team. They'd rather play Colorado (as seen this coming year). Iowa and/or Moo U are very doable.

It sounds weird but I really want to see a H/H series scheduled with Drake. Such a nice away game. Tickets are easy to get, it's a short drive, always a great chance to see a Jays win, lots of stuff to do in Des Moines with restaurants, etc. An away game in Ames is really blah, plus it'd be an extremely difficult game to win. And I don't want to play Iowa. UNI is way out of the question for me as they're anti-basketball.

The closest road trip next season is Chicago for DePaul. That's the only downside to joining the Big East. It'd be nice if next year there were options such as @UNL, @Drake, @DePaul.

In regards to the Wooden Legacy Tournament - I bet we'll play Marquette, making it 3 times we'll play them. Could it be the start of some sort of rivalry?

H/H with Drake is OK, but a 2 for 1 would be better!

We should never ever do a home and home with Drake. That would be like doing one with UMKC. Maybe a 2 for 1 with the 1 being at Wells Fargo. But, I would much rather play against UMKC and go to a city like KC, than Des Moines for a roadtrip.

With the possibility of a 4th game in the BE tourney.

Marquette leads the series with the Jays: 48 - 28.
1st games played in 1922-23 season (2 games). Annual event from 1948 - 1988, with exception to 1965 and 1966 (CU Media Guide).
Last RS games played: in 1994 and 1995 - both losses.
Last game played (N I T): 1997 - loss, in Milw. (3/11/98)
Last Jays win(s): In both the 1987 and 1988 regular seasons, under Barone (2-2 vs MU).

No tilts vs MU since those 3 games in the 1990's.

Renewing this series will be great fun. Opportunity to cut into the series disparity, on a regular basis. :)

Oh, I don't know about that. Not to sound elitist but let's all agree that year-in and year-out, KU would have a greater chance of beating Creighton than vice-versa. What better way to beat a major conference non-con opponent on the road than travel to Omaha and play Creighton in front of a packed arena with at least 1/3 Jayhawk support? And no AD knew that Creighton would be in the Big East just a year ago and big major conference H/H series are contracted a full year before; just look at how KU and Georgetown agreed to play a 4 year H/H series beginning this year, last October.

Whether we want to admit it or not, Creighton now becomes an attractive H/H series for other major conference teams; because the Bluejays - especially after Doug graduates - will be perceived as an easy major non-con road win opportunity.

...packed arena with at least 1/3 Jayhawk support...

The Huskers only get about 1,000 into our gym for the annual red bludgening. How would the Chickenhawks get 6,000 tickets to this game? Do you really think thousands of Creighton fans would sell their Creighton vs. Kansas tickets? Really?
