OK, now I'm pumped! Welcome, 1basketball_mom!

If he wants a good school and a great bunch of guys (and one that wins!) he's looking at the right school here, that's for sure.

Those Gilmore highlights are pretty impressive. In my opinion, that is exactly what we were missing last year.

I'd really like to get this kid. I hope he takes an official during the season - it would be nice for him to see our arena when packed.

Leon seems to be a good young man. Not cocky, but definitely plays to win. As a SF/stretch PF he will be a great addition for the Jays.
A Rodzilla-type of player (Rodney Buford - our former all-time scorer, until DMD arrived).

Where you wanna be in 5 years? Ans: At a good school (Creighton) getting ready for the NBA. YES.

Be a Jay Leon, Make it happen.

He does remind one of Buford - with a better head on his shoulders to boot.

We really don't even have a true small forward on the roster. LGIII would be perfect.

Jared Nickens had indicated some interest in Creighton but has been a heavy lean toward Maryland for some time. He has now committed there.

I'd really love to land Leon. But I have a feeling he is really going to blow up and go to a power house school

Sorry for the diss but WTF?! Stop thinking like an MVC fan.

What do kids want today:

- Play in front of large crowds,,,check
- Play in great facilities,,,check
- Play a fun style of ball,,,check
- Play on national TV pretty much every game,,,check
- Play for a winner, Top 25 level program,,,check
- Play for a school that sends kids to the League,,,check
- Play for a likable coaching staff with great team chemistry,,,check

Creighton is a very desirable destination folks. Every team in the Big East lands Top 100-150 kids. Get used to it.

Great post. I see no reason to believe we can't wind up with multiples in the 51-150 ranked kids, and even some higher than that. We have a crapload of positives going for us. About the only thing that can be construed as a negative is location vis-a-vis some of the warmer locales, but if you ask me we have it all over places like Lawrence and Bloomington, and they seem to do just fine there.

Give us a couple years to scrape the vestiges of the MVC and mid-major-itis out of people's minds and it'll be like our years of being restrained by our conference never happened. Until then it might be a little bumpy, but hey, this isn't a cakewalk.

My deepest apologies for my opinion, forgive me? I agree with everything you said. But, some kids have a mindset that playing for "Creighton" isn't big time, even now. They see their AAU teammates commit to schools who are known for their top level recruits, while I think it's wrong and stupid for some of them too not think Creighton stacks up, it's the truth. But I'm sure that will change soon.
