Roosevelt Smart played sensational for the Wolves in the 16U title game. Smart scored from the mid-range, got to the cup and knocked down some big-time shots on his way to 18 points. His athleticism and quickness caused problems for the opponent defensively and Smart was able to capitalize with some baskets in the open court. An impressive final day for the young talent from Illinois.
Smart showcased his athletic attacking ability again Saturday, scoring 12 and 14 points in two games we saw him play. Smart plays fast in transition and finished well in traffic, knocked down mid-range floaters regularly, and against Gateway showed his three-point capabilities, knocking down a clutch three late in the game which pulled the Wolves in striking distance, setting up Watson for the eventual game-winning jumper.
