6'11'' Center from Texas is one of the biggest risers so far this summer. He has been dominating the AAU scene over the last few weeks. He had a great NY2LA tournament last week. Creighton offered over a month ago.
Turner has offers from Creighton, Oklahoma State, Baylor, UCLA, Miami (FL.), Oklahoma, Oregon State, Texas, Texas A&M, and TCU
Turner is an athletic forward with a good mid-range game. At 6-11, Turner has outstanding court awareness and hops that make him a handful to defend inside. The sky is the limit for this soaring high major talent and with his ability to get to the free throw line, as well as catch and shoot from mid-range, Turner is big offensive weapon for Texas Select.
The 6-11 forward was outstanding on the defensive end, controlling the glass with his rebounding, but also blocking and altering a ton of shots. Turner also chipped in with 10 points during Friday night’s win, showing a great mid-range game.
Turner has been a hot name this spring and showed why with his intriguing combination of size, length and skills. A legit 6-11 with long arms, Turner defends at the rim, hits the glass, and also has the perimeter skill to knock in jumpers from out to the three-point line. The next step is adding strength and improving his back to the basket touches to go along with his faceup game and skillset.
Turner did not need to score much Saturday to help his team be successful. The raw big-man showed qualities of a college-level big man, being able to step out and hit shots away from the hoop, while controlling the glass well and routinely blocking opponents shots.
