Lots of Creighton connections to this one:

- Sandi Marcius - hard working 6'9'' post man really reminds me a lot of Brody Deren. Averaged 9.3mpg - 3.3ppg - 2.5 rpg - 0.5bpg, which was his best year of his career.

- Played for Alan Huss' La Lumiere School. 3 star recruit out of HS.

- Recruited hard by young SMU lead recruiter Steve Lutz.

- Marcius would have one year left and would be eligible to play right away.

- Also recruited hard by Paul Lusk (MSU). Sandi could very well end up there too.

Hilltop I just saw on the Big Board Jamal Jones. Do we have a shot at him? To get a visit would be nice.

I think Jamal Jones is wishful thinking, he's from Arkansas and they offered him. Similar to Desmond Lee and NC State.

Jamal Jones cut his list to five recently. CU was not on the list.

I think transfer is the way to go now, there aren't many worthy 2013 players left IMO (unless it's Ellis which seems like a longshot). Time to get a solid transfer who can help in 2014 and concentrate on 2014/2015 four year players.

Sort of relevant to this post, but some interesting statistics regarding JUCO transfers and how effective they are.

Great find Wildjays. Excellent article to temper expectations on Jucos. The Cleanthonys' and Pierre Jacksons' are few are far between. Fortunately, the Jays recruiting accessions will not be expected to 'carry' the team, just contribute within the offense.

Quevyn Winters, a 6'5 forward freshman from Duquesne is transferring. Wants to be closer to home (Milwaukee). If Marquette is not interested, would we be? I know Omaha isn't super close but it's closer to Milwaukee then Pittsburgh. Pretty good stats as a freshman.

Player GP MIN PPG RPG APG SPG BPG TPG FG% FT% 3P%
Quevyn Winters 30 22.0 9.6 3.9 0.9 0.6 0.1 2.0 .442 .741 .379

Excited for Brooks. However the last juco AA we recruited was 2nd team juco AA Wayne Runnels. No slouch but no program saver. That first game aganist Dayton sure had us excited though!!!

Since the Prep School explosion the juco ranks have not beenas fertile of a recruiting ground.
