really?

he seemed all set for dayton. surprising.

anyone have any scoop on how he looked in pickup on campus?

This is HUGE news in my opinion. Antoine leaves after next year and we've not only got some experience coming back with Chatman but also some major talent coming in from a really high quality player in Andre. Yates doesn't just fill a need, it fills it and just keeps the talent level moving up.

Dayton got a commit this morning from a Rivals top 150 PG that had previously committed to St John's but backed out. After getting that verbal, I suspect that either Dayton pulled its offer to Yates or Yates wasn't interested in also verballing to Dayton...

Signing a freshman works much better for scholarship matrix. Yates is one of last quality PG out there. Good work by staff, and thanks to that for St. Johns recruit :D

This.

The one and only thing we absolutely had to get out of this class was a PG. Adding a true sharp shooter like Zierden is a nice plus.
