The talent difference between the top handful of women’s hoops teams (and volleyball with a tad more parity) is just so great and i don't see that changing. Honestly, it’s why i don't geek out over this program. It’s so predictable.

Be happy CU is a have in the volleyball world and not a have not. That’s pretty special in my book for a tiny jesuit university in Omaha.

Bummer that Creighton is probably headed for the 8/9 game.

I'm predicting a 7 seed. and hoping for a 6. A 9 seed would show disrespect to the Jays for what they have done this year.

No it wouldn't. Their best win is probably Nebraska, who's barely going to make the tournament. They went 0-5 against top-10 teams and weren't particularly competitive in any of them outside of the UConn game in Omaha. They're a good team who played a really tough schedule but didn't accumulate many meaningful wins. The Big East is a two-bid conference.

The key is they lost to top 10 teams. In women’s hoops the top 10 teams are head and shoulders above a team that is in the top 25. Any other team ranked 15–25 would get hammered by the teams CU lost to. That is the nature of women’s hoops. CU does deserve better than an 8 or a 9 seed.

It's the quirk of their schedule this year. They essentially only played top-10 teams or teams that aren't going to make the tournament outside of Nebraska. SDSU, Green Bay and maybe Wyoming are auto-bid teams, and Creighton dropped one of those games. So the Jays only have 2, maybe 3 wins over other tournament teams. You get credit for playing a tough schedule, but it's not like a loss to a top-10 team counts as a quad 1 win (nor should it).

The rest oof the Big East being as down as it is really hurt Creighton's ability to pick up quality wins. They were an 8 and a 9 on the two prominent mocks I looked at yesterday.

Seed discussion doesn't happen in a vacuum. The question isn't - Does Creighton "deserve" a 9-seed or a 6-seed?"
The question is - How does Creighton compare to the teams perceived just above them in both outcome-based and predictive metrics?

How does Creighton's resume' compare to teams like Florida St, Iowa, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma St, West Virginia, Michigan St, Louisville, and Michigan? Would those teams do as well or better than Creighton playing the T10 teams or the games at South Dakota St and Green Bay?
"I want to beat (NU) so bad. This is a blue state...I’m a Creighton Bluejay. I’ve always wanted to go to Creighton...never really liked Nebraska...Creighton trusted me and Nebraska was just…out there...Can’t wait to play ’em..." ~Justin Patton
