Kalk’s last couple games have to put him in the driver seat for BE POY. Next 3 games for us are massive.

And replaced with who? A new coach isn’t going to solve their NIL issues, unless there’s a basketball version of Joe Moglia willing to spend their own money on the team.

Kalkbrenner and Ashworth better be prepared to be bruised and battered down the stretch. Teams are going to harass and bully Ashworth and will be bodying (mugging) Kalkbrenner with abandon down low. It is apparent that the only way to beat Creighton is to shut them down by any means. Neal and the supporting cast are going to have to step up and make them pay. McDermott needs to take a few pages out of the Hurley play book on officials. No need to go full bore Hurley, but he needs to be demanding officials protect those two from “over zealous” defending.

Exactly. They have a ridiculously low NIL to spend and will continue to bleed talent year after year and lose year after year until they get some money to spend

I don't think he's a great coach, but he finished 4th in the BE last year without an outstanding roster.. so he can coach with some talent on his roster

I'm really surprised that SH doesn't have a fair amount of guys who have made fat dough on Wall St.

At least enough to buy a basketball team.

Lack of talent aside getting smoked by Butler at home and getting smacked by DePaul who has similar talent isn’t a great look for any coach. His guys haven’t been ready to go the last couple games. If they just tank out the rest of the year, he’ll be on the hot seat. I do agree that the have nots are going to struggle even more so in the NIL landscape.

Loved seeing the Kalk tech last night. Enough was enough after the last uncalled elbow. The old Kalk/Creighton have checked out at times when the games turned into overly physical foul fests that the Big East loves to celebrate. Do agree that other teams have gained an advantage by riding the refs all game. Shaka will do it Saturday when he’s not contesting our 3 pointers in front of their bench. :)

Mac is on the refs the entire game, he just does it in a more subtle and thoughtful way.

Yep, it's just (usually) not in a demonstrative way that draws attention to it. The FS1 All Access game a couple of years was a great illustration -- he was working them all night long, but in a more conversational way. Here was one example:
