We have a very feisty Xavier team coming to Omaha this week.

Somehow Xavier has played SJU, UConn and Marquette twice already through 10 conf games.

I’m sure it’s a nightmare to put together. But the imbalance throughout the season in the schedule is incredible.

This type of scheduling is insane and it should never happen.

What's the verdict?? How close will the Jays be when the polls come out??

Two wins this week and I think we're in...

Not particularly close at all, honestly. Roughly 34th or 35th.

My guess is, if we beat X at home and Nova on the road this week, we should be right there for top 25 next week. Massey has us at 70% at home and 50/50 on the road.

If we split close games, we probably stay where we are, others receiving votes.

Big week for l’il ole Creighton (that’s a GTMO salute BTW)

It is bizarre. There are 8 Big East matchups that haven't happened yet, and three involve Xavier. Four home-and-homes are now done for the season, and three of those include X.

But now that they've run most of the gauntlet, with only the Jays left among the power four, Xavier should be feeling pretty good about themselves. They won twice in their UConn-MU-StJ tour and, after Wednesday, they'll have the Creighton roadie out of the way. Their sked was definitely front-loaded, and they could coast a little in the back half. One of their toughest remaining opponents (besides us) could be over-confidence. If anybody's in a position to sneak into the very top echelon of the league by season's end, it's them.

I suppose there are a lot of variables that go into scheduling, like arena availability in the case of MSG, Wells Fargo, and whatever the DC arena is called this week. Then the BE has to figure out Lavin's availability for discount beer nights. That can't be easy now that he's coaching again. It's like solving a Rubik's cube. Well, I'm guessing, since I never solved one myself. But I've heard stories.
