You don't always start your best 5 guys. This usually happens with starting centers playing less than 14 minutes but it could happen with Miller.

You may have me beat how long you have been a Jays fan. I have watched almost every game since 1978, either in person, televised, or available on tape/internet, missed very few. I can say with confidence that Miller this year is the worst starting player the Jays have ever had, and yes, I am including the woeful Rick Johnson teams. He is having an epically bad year this year 14% from three and even less overall, 12.5 %. He can’t guard, pass or dribble. He has no business being on the court for significant minutes this year. Let him be a practice player, some walk ons have been better, sad but true.

Holy shit..what a stupid post.

What exactly is stupid about it? He is far and away the lowest value player in our rotation. Thomas can play probably the best on ball defense we have, Traudt is shooting well and has shown huge improvements on D and chasing shots, Green is physical, plays good D, and has improved his shoot, King provides valuable bench minutes behind Kalk and has shown flashes of potential on offense, Mason has...gotten significantly worse, and even if he's coming back from an injury, at some point you cut your losses. He's a loss, and we should open up his spot next year for someone who brings value.

Even if his shot improves his defense has been atrocious lately and he still isn't a threat off the dribble whatsoever. He'd need a complete 180 in a hurry given the amount of 4's we have.

This isn't charity. You don't perform, you don't get minutes. Mac has said as much.

I agree, but the most important sentence in this paragraph is "Mac has said as much." If Mac believes in this mantra and is still giving Mason consistent minutes, that means something. It means that he's showing up in practice, earning minutes, but for whatever reason, the practice floor performance isn't being replicated during the game (yet). In the past, it has. He was an effective, efficient contributor. League leading efficiency! This year, he's struggled. Mac must believe it's a slump, rather than being indicative of who he is as a player, so he's still out there. That's reasonable to me.

I think "In Mac We Trust" is a little corny, but what the hell. Here it goes. In Mac We Trust.

I assume Alabama scheduled this away game at North Dakota for Grant Nelson. Major props to them this is pretty unique.

Are you suggesting the twin towers or Fred instead of Kalk? I like the twin towers possible experiment but I am almost certain that it will never happen.

Honestly, Coach Mac needs to start experimenting with Kalk at the 4, King at the 5, and McAndrew at the 3. The triple tower lineup.

Get your best guys playing time. Run some horns sets. Play some crazy zones to take advantage of all the bigs.

It isn't like Mason, Green, and Trout are providing ball-handling, distribution, or spacing. Might as well run some old-school high-low sets and have Kalk distributing out of the high post to King while McAndrew/Ashworth launch 3s when they collapse on the paint.

This

Teams better start guarding Jackson when he crosses half court because he's ready to drain another deep one.

Not sure where to put this, but former Jay John Christofolis is on BTN network right now as his Seattle RedHawks are taking on Washington. A good kid.
