Their guards are going to be a pain to get offense initiated against. As quick and aggressive as ever it appears. Their offense isn't as impressive, but looks like they can just throw a lot at you for 40 mins.

Count me as one who believes that Kam Jones will win league MVP this year. Kalk as deserving but Jones is legit and as a point guard dominates ball handling vs Kalk getting far less chance to dominate on offense and defensive greatness isn’t as sexy.

Just IMO.

Plus you can give Kalk a fourth DPOY and not seem to be slighting him. That makes voting easier. It’s early, though, to have a sense about any of that.

St. John's lost an absolute brutal one last night. Coughed up a big lead and went to double OT, during which a 5-point Red Storm lead with 18 ticks left was followed by Baylor 3pt (7 sec left), two missed SJU FTs (4 sec left), and deep Baylor 3pt at the buzzer.

Free throws killed them. Talented squad, Rick P. was not happy with the D. I can see them getting really good by the end of the year.

Pitino not happy with the refs, either. Watching the game, wasn't sure why the refs went to the monitor before the last 2 FTs by Johnies but, apparently, Drew told refs someone elbowed one of his players so they went to the monitor to look. There was no elbow but Drew got to ice the SJU free throw shooter without using a timeout.

The other issue Pitino brought up was the clock at the end of the game...I didn't notice in real time but when Baylor rebounded the second miss, the clock didn't start right away. In fact, it looked like almost a second delay, which would have not left enough time for the game winning shot.

Found this on CBS sports that talks about both issues, including video of the last shot.

They blew a 17 point lead. Ain’t nobody gonna listen to whining about refs and clocks.

Johnnies still gonna be pretty good squad.

Memphis up ten on Uconn in Maui with about 8 minutes to go. I don't believe Uconn has lost a non-conference game in some time.
