Historic performance that was absolutely needed in order to beat a team you led by 5 with under 4 minutes left and should beat by 25+ even without Pop is justifiable concern.
Yeah — talking more about bickering and name calling over precisely where in their conference UTRGV is being projected in random preseason predictions.
There are a million details that contribute to teams that are really good having issues in games like that one. Really good teams actually lose games like that not infrequently.
But carry on with the handwringing and petty arguing about utterly meaningless stuff instead of recognizing and appreciating what you had the privilege of seeing Kalkbrenner do. Do what makes you happy.
Good to see the message board police are in mid-season mode, and the Chief of Police is on the job. Do you get a badge and all that cool stuff?
Somebody wondered about UTRGV's conference and standing and I answered. Then, some doofus with 37 posts suddenly popped up and said I made it up, that I lied in other words, so I answered that too. Was it obligatory that I mention Kalk at the same time? What he did was jaw-dropping, but it seems to me most game and post-game posts in this thread didn't focus on his play or mention him at all (I could count them all up for you if you'd like so you can call them out too, but it might take a minute because there are a lot of them), maybe because as amazing as he was, there were some other aspects of the game itself that were concerning, and this is the game thread. Seems like it might have been legit to talk about those things too---especially since the thread immediately below this one is titled RYAN KALKBRENNER.
