Ava and Maddy both made the top 10 passing list for last week that Avid posted. Ava was 2nd last week among OHs (2.52) and Maddy was 6th among DS/L (2.43) playing on top 25 or P4 teams.

Norah is 6th best server on latest top server list (below). Ava was in top 10 for most effective back row attacker list he posted yesterday.

A&M just upset Texas in 5! This was Texas's last remaining top 25 RPI match as things stand today (although both Auburn and Mizzou are just outside the top 25). Texas had won their last 80 home matches in conference play before this.

Mizzou got reverse swept by A&M, too bad they couldn't have pulled that one off or they would be in the top 25 now for sure.

Scheduling for seeded teams we're competing with:

4 Louisville: Still have to play at Pitt, SMU and Stanford. Could overcome a loss or two with a home win against Pitt.

5 Stanford: Home vs. Louisville, challenging road games at Florida State and North Carolina. Seems likely they'll win out.

6 Creighton: At Marquette, BET.

7 SMU: Home against Louisville, at NC State and FSU. They haven't been a stellar road team.

8 Texas: If we win out, it's going to be hard for Texas to jump us for the 6th seed, since they don't have much juice left in their schedule either. Toughest games are home against Missouri and at Auburn.

The 6 seed most likely allows us to stay out of Nebraska and Pitt brackets, obviously the top 2 teams right now.

We probably want to cheer against Penn State, also. They can definitely drop, I think. 5th in RPI (compared to us at 4), 4-1 vs top 25 (compared to us at 4-2), and 7-1 vs top 50 (compared to us at 9-2). Am I missing something here? We look more impressive. I can see why Booth was a little upset with our rank.

PSU swept Louisville, which beat us, so that counts for a lot. Also beat Oregon, which is higher than our best win (Kansas). The RPI only is used for sorting, not for comparing teams head to head.

But you're right, we should also root against PSU. They still have Nebraska and Purdue at home, Wisconsin and USC on the road. A win over Nebraska would definitely keep them ahead of us, a loss to Purdue and USC would help our cause a lot.

If Creighton can't move up the most important thing is definitely to avoid falling to 7-10. If we are throwing in everyone who could pass Creighton, I wouldn't count out Wisconsin either. They still have two matches v Nebraska and another hosting Penn State. If they win the 2 home matches plus all their other matches they could pass Creighton.

Marquette just beat Seton Hall in 5 sets after being behind early to start the set.

Correct, because earning the #5 or #6 seed likely means you get to avoid the dreaded trip to Lincoln or Pittsburgh.
