Most recent update re eligibility was that it would potentially only be 1-2 games. Hoping for answers on that front soon.

Jacob, GREAT article. Thank you.

Any discussion of what the primary issues with NCAA are? It seems like the ability to speak English is not an issue. I assume the issues are primarily around professionalism, which of course is a weird issue when home grown college athletes are now making 7 figures.

The big guy for Kentucky last year didn’t get approved until January. Let’s hope this doesn’t drag on that long.

Haven't seen this posted elsewhere on BJU, but we're no longer playing Oregon in the Players Era Festival and will instead play one of the other pool's four teams (Alabama, Houston, Notre Dame or Rutgers). If we got Houston, we'd have games against preseason Nos. 1-4.

It would be a little weird if we played Alabama twice.

That's more or less the original format of the tourney; they had to change it initially because the NCAA prohibits conference mates from playing each other in MTE's (which is why they split it into two pods, to get Alabama/Tx A&M and Oregon/Rutgers away from each other).

But that's getting harder to avoid these days with leagues of 16-18 teams, so they granted a waiver while they figure out a way forward. That opened the door for this tourney to revert back to a bracketed format.

Thanks Jacob, nice to hear Fedor’s lawyers are positive, the media have been very negative about eligibility.
At Creighton Bob Gibson majored in sociology and starred in Basketball and Baseball. In 1957 Gibson received a $3,000 sign-on bonus with St. Louis Cardinals, but delayed his HOF Cards career a year to play pro B-ball with the Harlem Globetrotters.

Weird that we would have 5 games against 1, 2 & 3, with two home, two away and one neutral… weirdly awesome remembering the 30 years in the Valley!!!

Two out of three Saturdays, with neither game within a thousand miles of Omaha (okay, 929 miles). Weird's one word for it. And the tie-breakers encourage running up the score. Maury Hanks has to be a tournament consultant.

If things fall differently with the new Vegas format could get #4 with Houston too, crazy schedule.
